Hello,

accidentally I found the file DXSUM_PDXCONV_ADNIALL.csv. From this I follow that certain diagnoses have changed (e.g. MCI to AD). Can someone confirm this?

Then there is also the file CONVERSIONS.csv. I'm wondering why this file is so short (in terms of the number of subjects). What is the difference to the first mentioned file? Or is it just not up to date?

Lastly, I'm curious if there is a reason why the conversions do not get updated in the database itself. Everyone who downloads subject data (e.g. scans) also has to look into the file DXSUM_PDXCONV_ADNIALL.csv in order to obtain correct class labels. And if you do not know about this file there is no chance to work with correctly labeled data. Or is there somewhere a hint linking to this file I am missing?

Hi Markus,

DXSUM_PDXCONV_ADNIALL.csv is the file that contains diagnosis information (including changes in diagnosis). The CONVERSIONS.csv file should not be used to identify individuals who changed diagnosis (my understanding is that at the start of ADNI-1, there was going to be a committee that reviewed possible changes in diagnosis, but then a decision was made to just use the judgements of the clinician seeing the participant - contained in the DXSUM_PDXCONV_ADNIALL.csv file).

The images themselves are stored under the diagnosis at the screening visit, so the images do not contain the current diagnosis of the participant. There is an FAQ about how to identify participants who have changed diagnosis (http://adni.loni.usc.edu/data-samples/data-faq/)
