So what *actually* is SITEID? Not to be confused with SITE or the site ID prefix in PTID....

The ROSTER, REGISTRY, and CDR assessment records all have a column headed SITEID. Now I am aware that the advice is to use the SITE column in the ADNIMERGE dataset (or deriving it from the PTID prefix), but I am curious as to the provenance of SITEID and for what it was intended.

Is it a legacy geographic indicator, or some other organisational identifier? A cursory inspection suggests there's a not-entirely random association between SITE and SITEID.

Again - just my curiosity. Not a research-critical issue.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Dave

Hi Dave,

I believe this was something internal that the Clinical Core used for tracking, but honestly do not know the specific meaning of it.
