Read ADNI data into Freesurfer, SPM

Hi,

I want to use Freesurfer and SPM to read the ADNI data and do some processing. But I can't figure out which data should I download? I did download the ADNI1_Complete_3Yr_3T_metadata.zip file and tried to read the ".nii" file. But I couldn't do it using any of the software. Can you please tell me what am I doing wrong? How can I read the data in SPM and freesurfer? I need your suggestions badly.

SPM and FreeSurfer should both be able to read .nii files (NiFTI). Have you looked into the tutorials available for those software programs to make sure you are taking the appropriate steps to read the files? I guess it could be a version issue. LONI also has the option to download the images in ANALYZE format, which might also work.

I’m pretty sure that zip file contains spreadsheet/s CSV) not images.

It gives a list of image IDs that you can use to download the corresponding image files.
