Serious trouble starting campaigns

Just started advertising on AdMob for our BeSpeak iPhone app with the
objective of generating downloads of this free app. Nothing makes
sense and my emails to admob support remain unanswered:
First (targeted iPhone) campaign generated 50000 impressions and 300
click-throughs and ZERO downloads. Impossible for a free app. So I
thought the link must be wrong, and started again, linking anew, and I
got the same result, click-throughs with Zero downloads.
Now I made a third test which is even more confusing becuase it says
the campaign used up the daily budget (10$ for the test) but ZERO
impressions.
HELP! Thanks
