Greetings from the Association of Diagnostics Manufacturers of India (ADMI).
With reference to the email received from the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), please note that the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW) has informed that the Government of Ecuador has expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with India in the areas of access to medicines and technical regulatory collaboration.
In this regard, Ecuador has proposed the establishment of an institutional technical mechanism between India and Ecuador to facilitate exchange of regulatory information and promote bilateral cooperation in the field of medical products.
The Department has requested industry inputs/comments on the following aspects with respect to Ecuador:
Members are requested to kindly share their inputs/comments with the ADMI Secretariat at the earliest to enable consolidation and submission to the Department within the stipulated timeline.

Sir/Madam,
The Department of Health and Family Welfare has informed that the Government of the Republic of Ecuador has expressed interest in deepening cooperation with India regarding access to medicines and technical regulatory collaboration. Further, DoHFW stated that during the meeting of the Hon’ble HFM with H.E. Gabriela Sommerfeld, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, held on 29.04.2026, the Ecuadorian side proposed the establishment of an institutional technical mechanism between Ecuador and India. This mechanism would facilitate the exchange of information and promote regulatory cooperation, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations in the field of medical products. The proposed mechanism would pursue the following objectives:
Establish a system for the exchange of regulatory information.
Publicly identify Indian manufacturers and production regions currently exporting to Ecuador, as well as potential exporters.
Designate focal points for its implementation.
2. In view of the above, it is requested to kindly provide the following information with respect to Ecuador at the earliest:
The existing trade relationship between India and Ecuador.
The importance of Ecuador’s pharmaceutical and medical device market for India.
Indian companies present in Ecuador and Ecuadorian companies present in India.
Market access issues with respect to Ecuador.
Proposals or suggestions for new initiatives/programs.
Areas of cooperation between India and Ecuador.

Kind reference is invited to attached Note verbale dated 29.04.2026 received from the Ecuador side during the meeting of the Hon'ble HFM with H.E.
