PRESIDENT’S NEWSLETTER

OPM Survey

I encourage everyone to complete the OPM survey as it will assist OPM in understanding what we do.

I have it on good authority that the survey is not meant for any nefarious purpose, such as downgrading our positions.

Arbitration Award

Thanks to Designated Representative Judge Lil Richter – and Regional Vice President Caroline Siderius, who assisted her at the hearing – for litigating and winning an important right for all of us. The Agency had denied Judges Sloan and Kennedy documents related to bias complaints that had been filed against them. The Judges had sought to provide their attorneys with the documents. The Arbitrator ordered the Agency to supply redacted copies, holding that the documents were essential for effective legal representation and to defend against bias complaints. I have attached a copy of the decision, which the Agency has already appealed to the FLRA, asserting that it should not be enforced.
