Three trips to talk about this email:

Monday July 27^th - we're planning to paddle at the SOUTH end of Hemlock Lake. We haven't been able to do this paddle for a number of years due to low water levels but last week Marcia and I scouted it out and we were able to paddle down the channel. Meet at the boat launch at the south end of the lake (off 15A) for a 10:00 - 12:00 paddle. We are keeping an eye on the weather - it looks a bit "iffy" right now.

Directions: From the north take the 390 to the Avon/Lima exit. Turn left and drive to Lima, turn right at the only stop light (onto 15A) and travel through the hamlet of Hemlock, continue past Rix hill Rd and along the lake for about 8 miles. You'll see a boat launch sign on the right. Turn right and then an immediate right down to the parking lot. You can drive down to the water to unload the boat but then park in the parking lot. If you come to Springwater you've come too far!!!
Wednesday July 29^th - Jay is leading a full moon paddle on the Erie Canal! This should be lovely!!! Meet at the Erie Canal Boat Company, 7 liftbridge Lane, Fairport for an 8:30 - 10:30PM paddle (I know this is past our bedtime but I think it'll be well worth it - sleep in the next morning!!) This will be a leisurely paddle of about 5 miles. Bring a headlamp or boat lamp along with other boating supplies. RSVP to Jay at jbswi...@gmail.com - that way he can let you know if the trip has to be cancelled due to weather.

Monday - Aug 3^rd - Jim Bird is leading a paddle on Skaneateles Lake. This should be a very interesting one!!! We'll paddle the east shoreline, trip total is just less than 6 miles. There are some cottages along the route, but quite a bit of the paddle is below steep cliffs. We first stop at an area containing ancient fossil staghorn coral deposits dating from the Devonian period (400 - 350million years ago) . We then continue to Staghorn Point, a new area preserved by the fingerlakes land trust. Here we take a break, have lunch and possible swim. The trip is quite scenic, and the water in this lake is incredibly clear!

Meet at the Pro Bass Shop on the north side of Route 20, just as you are entering Auburn from the west. We will proceed as a group to the launch site. Total drive time from Rochester is about 1.5 hours. Bring Lunch, snacks, boating supplies etc.

(Birdj...@gmail.com or 585-481-6182) know if you are planning on coming. If the weather is "iffy", windy or just "not nice"....this trip will be rescheduled. Too far to drive to not be able to enjoy!!!

Non members are welcome to participate in any of our activities. We do ask that after participating twice, they consider joining the organization. As always, if you have any questions, e mail or call the trip leader. If we have to cancel a paddle it will be an e mail before 8:30 on the day of paddle or before.
