Monday - Aug 3rd - Jim Bird is leading a paddle on Skaneateles Lake. This should be a very interesting one!!! We'll paddle the east shoreline, trip total is just less than 6 miles. There are some
cottages along the route, but quite a bit of the paddle is below steep cliffs. We first stop at an area containing ancient fossil staghorn coral deposits dating from the Devonian period (400 - 350million years ago) . We then continue to Staghorn Point, a
new area preserved by the fingerlakes land trust. Here we take a break, have lunch and possible swim. The trip is quite scenic, and the water in this lake is incredibly clear!
Meet at the Pro Bass Shop on the north side of Route 20, just as you are entering Auburn from the west. We will proceed as a group to the launch site. Total drive time from Rochester is about 1.5 hours. Bring
Lunch, snacks, boating supplies etc.
(Birdj...@gmail.com or 585-481-6182) know if you are planning on coming. If the weather is "iffy", windy or just "not nice"....this trip will be rescheduled. Too far to drive to not be able to enjoy!!!
