Two-hour hybrid hike split between a 45-minute, 1.5-mile loop on wide, well-maintained trails along Irondequoit Creek towards Home Depot, then returning to the parking lot, followed by a 75 minute, 2.5 mile moderate section at a faster pace towards Spring Lake Park for the rest of the 2-hour hike. While this hike will be mostly flat, there is a short side trail up a hill that runs along Honey Creek we might take for a short hill climb to an overlook. Meet 9:45am in the N Washington St parking area (43.12706, -77.48405) for Channing Philbrick/Linear Park (at the blocked off bridge on N Washington St, East Rochester, NY 14445) for a 10:00am hike start. Alternative parking off 441 (43.12730, -77.48490) north of the blocked off bridge on Linear Park Dr, then walk to the south side of the blocked off bridge. Please dress for the weather, bring some water to drink, and wear boots or trail shoes with good traction. Depending on winter trail conditions microspike traction devices may be needed. Hiking poles would be useful on the steeper sections. Contact Rich Sensenbach at Ri...@rsimage.com with any questions. Dogs are not allowed on this hike.

Our hybrid hikes consist of 2 loops that allow us to drop off hikers who prefer a 40-minute to 1-hour easier hike at a slightly slower pace with less elevation change, then continue for the rest of the 2 hours at a faster pace with some short climbs. This allows all of us to keep hiking together, when some of our old and new friends need to shorten their hike or some are just starting back hiking after a time off or recovering from surgery.

You must read and sign the “club’s release of liability form” which will be available at the parking lot.

NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT without signing a LIABILITY RELEASE FORM.
