Hike the entire (as far as I know) the Rochester, Syracuse and Eastern Trail from East Rochester to southeast Perinton, about 8 miles mostly on stone or paved trail; a little suburban street and sidewalk. Flat and easy walking unless there is snow or ice! Plan on carpooling to the beginning of the hike, bring water and a lunch, we can stop to eat.
Be prepared for the weather; bring lots of water, a snack or lunch, and possibly traction devices. Hiking poles may be useful especially if it is icy. Meet at 8:45 for a 9 AM shuttle start. No dogs, please. Contact leader with any questions. Additional Information: The Sunday Hikes are offered as a benefit to current and potential new members of ADK. All our hikes have a steady pace, so are not "nature strolls" but they are also not "endurance tests", although we do at times hike at a brisk pace. Bring plenty to drink. Equally important is the proper footwear, gear and clothing for changing conditions. This hike is planned to last 4-4.5 hours plus shuttling, but many times unexpected delays can occur, so if you are pressed for time, this hike may not be a good fit. Minors are welcome when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All hikers must sign a release form which will be available at the trail head.
