Tuesday Hikes are being cross-posted to the MeetUp Group "ADK Genesee Valley Chapter"

2-hour hybrid hike on the hills in Tryon Park along the wetlands/Irondequoit Creek. 1st hike approx. 30-minutes down to the marsh shoreline then a climb back to the cars. 2nd hike 3+ miles with 400+ feet of ascent/descent. Meet 9:45am in the Tryon Park parking lot for a 10:00am hike start. Tryon Park (43.16667, -77.53818) is located at the end of Tryon Park (road) off of North Winton Road between Browncroft and Empire Boulevards. Drive to the end of Tryon Park (road), cross over highway 590 and the parking lot is on the left. Please dress for the weather, wear boots or trail shoes with good traction, bring some water to drink, and with the warming weather, some tick repellent. Hiking poles would be useful on the steeper sections. Contact Jim Bishop at adk.gvc...@gmail.com with any questions. Dogs are not allowed on this hike.

Our hybrid hike consists of 2 hikes that allow us to drop off hikers who prefer a 40-minute to 1-hour easier hike at a slower pace with less elevation change, then continue with the 2nd hike for the rest of the 2 hours at a faster pace with some short climbs. This allows all of us to keep hiking together, when some of our old and new friends need to shorten their hike or some are just starting back hiking after a time off or recovering from surgery.

New to ADK? Come join us for a couple of outings, and if you like what you see, become a member to support responsible outdoor recreation and enjoy all the benefits of membership! Here's the link to apply for membership: members.adk.org…

You must read and sign the “club’s release of liability form” which will be available at the parking lot.
NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT without signing a LIABILITY RELEASE FORM.

Jim can you call me about this hike?  I haven't been doing steep hills.  Yesterday I did the East Esker for about 3 miles with Tricia Cook, her son and Abeida.  I struggled a little on the steep sections had to pause and rest a few times.  Maybe I should pass this one by.  585-766-9637

Hi Cindy,

Could you send me a photo or two of your next hike that I could share on social media please?   You always take cool pics.  If you are in the photo even better.  I know our membership will be supper happy to see you out on the trail.

Thanks for considering this!

Bruce
