Two-hour hybrid hike in Durand Eastman Park split between a 35-minute hike at a slower pace north from the parking lot, then we'll cross King's Highway for the second hike on the west side, with just over 2.5 miles and approx. 300' of elevation gain/loss. Meet at 9:45am in the Durand Eastman Golf Course Clubhouse parking lot (43.23345, -77.56941, 1200 Kings Hwy N, Rochester, NY 14622) for a 10:00am start. Please dress for the weather, bring some water to drink, and wear boots or trail shoes with good traction. Depending on winter trail conditions exospike or microspike traction devices may be needed. Our hybrid hike consists of 2 hikes that allow us to drop off hikers who prefer a 40-minute to 1-hour easier hike at a slower pace with less elevation change, then continue with the 2nd hike for the rest of the 2 hours at a faster pace with some short climbs. This allows all of us to keep hiking together, when some of our old and new friends need to shorten their hike or some are just starting back hiking after a time off or recovering from surgery.
