When Tuesday, March 24, 2026, 9:45am – 12pm Where 43.17519, -77.52367 Hosted By Genesee Valley Chapter Type Events Leader Email adk.gvc...@gmail.com Details Tuesday Hikes are being cross-posted to the MeetUp Group "ADK Genesee Valley Chapter" Two-hour hybrid hike in Lucien Morin Park split between a 40-minute hike at a slower pace on the flat park road looping back to the cars, followed by a 2nd hike at a faster pace on the Rifle Range Trail for the rest of the 2-hour hike. Meet at 9:45am in the Lucien Morin Park parking lot (43.17519, -77.52367) on Empire Blvd just east of what used to be MacGregor's and is now Bar-Bill East for a 10:00am hike start. Please dress for the weather, bring some water to drink, and wear boots or trail shoes with good traction. Depending on spring trail conditions Exospike, Microspike or other traction devices may be needed. Hiking poles would be useful on the steeper sections. Our hybrid hike consists of 2 hikes that allow us to drop off hikers who prefer a 40-minute to 1-hour easier hike at a slower pace with less elevation change, then continue with the 2nd hike for the rest of the 2 hours at a faster pace with some short climbs. This allows all of us to keep hiking together, when some of our old and new friends need to shorten their hike or some are just starting back hiking after a time off or recovering from surgery. Sorry for the confusion, the main club is moving all the chapters unto Trumba and they have modified the form

 

The problem was it was not posted as a hike. It looks like you inadvertently chose “general events” for the “Event Information” option on the revised calendar submission form. If you select this option, there is not place to select “hiking” as an activity category. This is the key step to get the event on the hiking calendar, which is where the weekly email blast is pulled from.

Going forward make sure you select “Outings” for Event Information, which will show the activity category.

 

One way to check is to see if the hike appears on the hiking calendar on out website. If not, you can go back into Trumba and change the posting.

So that is why my April hikes are not on the hiking calendar. I used General Event because it is easier than filling the form for an Outing.  I do not know how to go back to change the posting. Can someone either do it for me or educate me on how to do it? Maybe I'm getting too old for this. -John
