The trip will start on the east side of the park with a steep ascent of the Bluffs offering numerous overlooks of the Park's namesake; its dramatic spires of eroded sandstone set with the lake in the background. We will follow the upper trail to the west entrance for 1.3 miles where we can take a comfort rest and rehydration break using the Park's facilities there. We will return by the lower trail which will include a return to the Bluff overlooks. For those interested, a hike on the Bentley Bond trail at Alasha Farms (trailhead on Red Mill Road adjacent to 2nd Creek) is worth a side trip. It's a 0.75 mile hike that terminates at a treed knoll overlook of the southern tip of the Sodus Bay marshes. You will need to be prepared for hiking on sections of wet, muddy trails and to take precautions against ticks for both trails. Almost all of the hiking will be under forest canopies.
