YOUTH RELATED | Adivasi Day

August 9th is declared as Indigenous Peoples Day by United Nations (UN)

This day invites us to awaken, to get organized, to claim our rights to live a dignified life!
According to the census 2001, in Maharashtra 8.87%, Dadara Nagar Haveli 62.25%, Gujarat 14.79% . We are spread into various locations. Could we get together on this occasion to experience the strength, power of such a large community?
Our Constitution ensures us different rights. UN Declaration of Indigenous Peoples Rights assures us various rights. But the reality is that even after several decades of our Independence, we have not been able to experience the fruits of it tangibly! One of the reasons could be that we are not awakened enough, organized enough to claim our due rights to enjoy them!
So come on, let us awaken, get organized, fight together to claim our rights. On this occasion of Adivasi Din let's pledge to make efforts to awaken, unite and free those who are the victims of injustice, atrocities, oppression, discrimination etc.
Lets become the value based leaders of our community, our Country and our World.
