Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion& Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP) CSSEIP was founded at NLSIU, Bangalore, in 2008, through an initiative of the UGC, Government of India, to promote interdisciplinary research on the varied forms of social marginality and exclusion in India. CSSEIP undertakes academic, legal and policy research with a special focus on caste, tribal and religious minorities with an active commitment to furthering democratic practices. For more details, please visit www.nls.ac.in/csseip NLSIU is seeking applications for the following positions from exceptionally competent candidates with excellent writing, research, analytical and computer skills and a commitment to the cause of socially disadvantaged communities. They must be able to work independently as well as part of a research team and have good organizational and inter personal skills. Essential Qualification/Experience: (i) Excellent academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work and a Master's degree in law specialized in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Human Rights Law / Public Policy or a doctoral degree and a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Economics, Education, History, Literature, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Statics and Women Studies or similar inter-disciplinary subject with strong expertise in Law from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign univeristy. (ii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and /or research in an academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a university, College or Accredited research institution excluding the period of Ph.D., research with evidence of published work. (iii) A minimum of 5 publications as books and / or research /policy papers directly related to the issues of the marginalized communities in India. (iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in this regulation in Appendix -III (the document available at the following website:www.ugc.ac.in/policy/revised_finalugcregulationfinal10[1].pdf). are essential. (v) Demonstrated ability to write research proposals, raise funds, execute and co-ordinate research projects, and strengths in quantitative & qualitative research methodology. (vi) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula, and experience of having worked in a reputed law school / socio-legal research / Advocacy centre / organization / litigation law firm and active enagement with policy making bodies / human rights / non-government organizations / social movements / national / international funding agencies related to the issues of socially under privileged communities are desirable.
Essential Qualification/Experience: (i) Excellent academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work in the relevant subject. (ii) Master's Degree from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Law, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Economics, Education, History, Literature, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics and Women Studies or similar inter-disciplinary subject with strong expertise in Law. Specialization in quantitative & qualitative research methodology & experience of having worked in a reputed law school / socio-legal research/ Advocacy centre / organization, litigation law firm, enagement with policy making bodies and human rights non-government organizations/social movements / newspaper / journal are desirable.
Essential Qualification/Experience : Post graduate degree in Law or five year B.A., LL.B., degree (Hons.) from a reputed law school / college specialized in Constitutional Law, human rights and public policies or Post-graduate degree in social sciences, two year experience of research in any of the Social Sciences including work experience in print / electronic media or Law on issues related to the socially disadvantaged sections, ability to network with individuals and organizations on issues related to the socially disadvantaged sections, organize seminars, workshops, conferences and thorough knowledge of Microsoft office applications, Internet administration, strong reading, writing and typing skills in one's mother tongue and working knowledge of HIndi or another South Indian language are essential. Specialization in quantitative & qualitative research methodology & experience of having worked in a reputed law school / socio-legal research/ Advocacy centre / organization, litigation law firm, enagement with policy making bodies / human rights and non-government organizations/social movements / newspaper / journal are desirable.
Essential Qualification/Experience : M.com., / B.com., degree, senior typing with stenography not less than three year experience in Tally - Accounts, Stenography, typing both in English and Kannada, ability to independently handle the office correspondence, preparation of budget proposal, project accounts, utilization certificate etc., thorough knowledge of Microsoft office applications, Internet administration, administrative skills, strong reading, writing and typing skills in one's mother tongue and working knowledge of HIndi or another South Indian language are essential. Three year work experience in a reputed university / law school / policy- oriented research institution / national / international Non -Governmental funding organisation is desirable.
Essential Qualification/Experience : Post-graduate degree in Law or five year B.A., LL.B., degree (Hons.) from a reputed law school specialized in Constitutional Law, human rights and public policies and experience in legal data analysis and documentation or Post graduate degree in social sciences with five years experience as a documentation expert having worked in a reputed socio-legal research centre/organization. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft office applications, MS Access, typing skills and a thorough knowledge of kannada is essential. E xperience as an advocate is desirable.

Candidates who have worked on issues pertaining to the marginalized communities of India are strongly encouraged to apply. During their fellowship tenure, the post-doctoral fellows will be expected to either complete a book manuscript or two journal articles based on their doctoral or subsequent research work. Interested candidates should submit a two-page statement of research interests and proposed work at the CSSEIP. The tenure of the post-doctoral fellowship will be for six months. Their will be one fellowship at a given time and two fellowships in a year. 9 AMBEDKAR RESEARCH FELLOW with a consolidated pay of Rs. 25,000 per month. Eligible candidates will hold a doctoral degree in any of the Social Sciences or Law.
