I would like help to solve the problems described at length but in exact detail below:

Click ‘Recording’ then:

‘Birds’ & ‘Mayflies’ missing from ‘Item Groups’ Field. [but ‘Birds’ list at top right ok.]

No ‘Inputting’ screen.

1] ‘Unexpected Error In - InoutItemForm:BuildUserFields, Error Number 3464. Data type mismatch in criteria expression.

2] ‘Unexpected Error In - InoutItemForm:BuildUserFields, Error Number 91. Object variable or With block variable not set,

3] ‘Unexpected Error In - InoutItemForm:BuildUserFields, Error Number 91. Object variable or With block variable not set.

4] ‘Unexpected Error In - InoutItemForm:BuildUserFields, Error Number 3464. Data mismatch in criteria expression.

5] ‘Unexpected Error In - InoutItemForm:BuildUserFields, Error Number 91. Object variable or With block variable not set.

6] ‘Unexpected Error In - InoutItemForm:BuildUserFields, Error Number 91. Object variable or With block variable not set.

7] Then ‘sighting details’ screen appears. Still no ‘Birds’ or ‘Mayflies

8] Able to enter ‘Site’ and other fields in ‘Sighting Details’ screen. But then….trying to enter ‘Code’ or ‘Name’ in appropriate box results in…..

9] repeat of 1] 2] 3] before able to enter ‘Code’. Then……

10] repeat of [1 [2 [3, before able to enter in ‘name’ field.

11] on clicking ‘Next’ to enter subsequent siting in the ‘Name’ field there is a repeat of 11] for each new entry!!!

This only seems to apply to the ‘Birds’ section. I use the Db for ‘Butterflies and Moths’ , extensively, with no trouble.

There are no problems with producing ‘Reports’ of varying kinds.

I have been putting up with this inconvenience for some time but if it can be solved I would be grateful. I have been using Aditesite for I should guess about 10 years and have over 55000 records.

Sincerely

Derek Crawley, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex

Hi

Sounds like something strange about the content of the user defined
fields for that species list.
Are you using the latest version of the program (if so, I can add a
diagnostic to the code to find out what is happening)?
Or at least trap the errors so that they do not bother you.

Cheers

Paul

Hi

If you send me a copy of your data, I will investigate the problem.

Simplest thing is probably to put the whole of the AditSite folder
(usually c:\aditsite) onto a CD and
post to Adit Limited, Tyn Rardd, Dwyran, Anglesey, LL61 6AJ.

Alternatively, you could try zipping just aditsite.mdb and emailing it
to pau...@adit.co.uk

Cheers

An update disk is on its way to you by snail.

The following is a copy of the 'instructions'

AditSite Update

1. Insert the CD – it should start automatically. If not, browse the
CD and find the Update program (update.exe) and start it manually
(double-click).
2. Click [Install Program Update]
3. When the update has finished click [Exit]
4. Run AditSite as normal. If the program does not start normally, see
below*.

Recovering the user-defined fields for the Bird’s list

1. From the main menu, choose Item Lists (Maintain Item List). Select
the Bird list and click [Modify] and answer Yes to the warning.
2. When the ‘Enter Item List Details’ screen comes up, choose File/Get
User Field Names – and click through the errors.
3. Choose the same thing again (this time hopefully without the
errors)
4. Click [Save]
5. Choose File/Quit to return to the main menu

*The latest version does not run properly – probably due to missing or
out-of-date system files.

On the CD, there is an update from Microsoft - vbrun60sp5.exe
Copy this program to somewhere convenient on your computer (the
desktop for example)
Run the program
