I've been trying to get familiar with the programme, and have records
in the database which need deleting. When I go to options - file -
database - clear data, I am asked for a user number. Please can you
help?

You can delete records individually from the review screen (try right
clicking on the 'Today's Entries' Icon - left click just gives you
literally today's)
But you can indeed clear the lot via user options once the
registration info is entered:
User Number = ####
Checksum = #####
(actual numbers are unique to each user)
