Duplicate Recorders

Usually as the result of importing data, it is possible to generate
duplicate recorders.
Sometimes these are exact duplicates, but more commonly they are the
same recorder with a slightly different name. Maybe initials instead
of first name, or a title as part of the name.

AditSite has an option that allows you to merge the records for these
recorders so that they belong to a single named individual.

1. From the front screen, choose Recorders (Maintain Information About
Recorders)
2. Selecting each recorder that you want to merge in turn (with the
'target' recorder last) with a left click - right click with the mouse
- this will tag the recorder (--> displayed next to the name)
3. On the File menu, you will see that the option Merge Recorders is
disabled (Greyed out). You can enable it as follows:

Close the File menu.
Hold down the [Ctrl] key
Right-click on the form background (eg 1cm above the [Close] button)

4. With the menu enabled, select Merge Recorders, and check the
prompt.

If this all sounds a bit awkward, that is because it is supposed to be
- you cannot reverse the process, so need to know what you are doing.
