Sorting problem

I have a reference number to my specimens: SDPC001 to SDPC….. When I
open the “Report” and sort the data in the “Reference” column, the
arrangement was OK until the SDPC999. After that, the arrangement is
SDPC099 -> SDPC1000 ….. SDPC1009 ->SDPC101 ->SDPC1010 …. SDPC1009 ->
SDPC102 -> SDPC1020 and so on. How can I arrange the reference column
in a number order?. I hope you understand me!!!

I do understand. By default computers sort in strict ascii order,
which does not work well for numbers.

The sort option has the 'By Value' option to solve this for numbers,
but this will not work for your composite references.

I have added a 'Special Sort' option for you to test - look in the
