Dear Fellow Carolers,

I see that Occupy Boston has us on their schedule for Friday noon. So I've played around with 3 carols--Deck the Halls, We Three Kings, and O Come, All You Faithful--and I think they're ready.  If I get time, I may do one or two more.

I trust that no one in our group will be offended by my inserting protest language into formerly religious songs?? I figure that my being raised with an exceedingly heavy dose of Roman Catholicism gives me license to engage in a little blasphemy for a good cause. Please let me know.

Also, tell me how this works. Should I e-mail my reworked carols to someone for approval or for copying? Annabelle? Jeff? Should I bring copies? Is anybody bringing copies of the Occupy New Hampshire carols that Alicia made us aware of?

In solidarity,
Janet

I will be posting an "official" caroling book tonight and bringing copies tomorrow.  Send me what you have, and any requests.  The goal is to have enough undoctored Carols so that anyone passing by can join us without needing a book.  Also, in some cases I've added "doctored" verses at the ends of the traditional words.

More anon.

I've bowdlerized some carols in my day too, but since this is intended
to be a participatory thing, this makes perfect sense to me.

Love, Columbine
