I am so sorry that many of you received a plea for help that was
supposedly from me in Madrid. My e-mail was hacked and they tampered
with my address book, so it took me a while to be able to mail you all
to tell you not to worry about me and, certainly, not to send money to
rescue me. The e-mail asks you to answer an e-mail address on yahoo
that is not mine. If you sent money, let me know and we'll figure out
what to do.
I have changed my password and may leave gmail, if I don't find out
what happened, and how to keep it from happening again, since this was
the second time within a year that a spam message went out from my
account. I wish I understood better what is going on.
Thanks to any of you who were worried. I'm very sorry to have
bothered any of you who got this message especially since some of you
may be getting it a second time.

Desolee, mes amis! Un message de secours a ete envoye de mon compte
ce matin, disant que j'etais a Madrid en Espagne et j'avais besoin
d'argent. Je ne suis pas a Madrid et je n'ai pas demande de l'argent.
Je suis desolee que ce message a ete envoye et j'espere que vous
n'etiez pas trop inquiete pour moi. J'espere que personne n'a envoye
rien. Si vous l'avez fait, dites-moi et nous trouverons la solution.
J'ai change mon mot de passe maintenant et je considere l'idee de
quitter g-mail, si je ne trouve pas une autre solution, comme c'est la
deuxieme fois dans une annee qu'un message a ete envoye de mon compte
qui n'etait pas de moi. Je suis desolee que je ne comprends pas mieux
ce qui arrive.
Merci a tous qui etaient inquites pour moi. Je suis desolee de vous
avoir embete avec ce message.
