Good Morning!

Who can believe we have only one week left of school before
Thanksgiving vacation?

Just a reminder, fundraiser orders are due today! Yikes! If you
forgot, send them in through Tuesday morning. Orders will be tabulated
Tuesday and sent in to the companies to ensure delivery by Christmas
vacation. If you have the time, meet us in the Staff Room Tuesday
morning to help count orders!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to cook/work/shop for the feast
on Friday. We now have the five turkeys (Thank you Kim, Tracy, Dana
T., Julie, and Katy!), in addition to potatoes (Thank you Sonja,
Edith, and Rochelle!). We're still in need of pie and all the fixings
(stuffing, olives, cranberries). We'll start preparations around 9:00
or 9:30 on Friday morning if you'd like to help in the kitchen. The
students start to gather around 11:00 for lunch so we need servers
then too. It's such a wonderful tradition at Alta-Dutch Flat School.
If you are available, please join us for lunch.

Thank you, again, for all your hard work on behalf of our students.

Hello,

Whoa! The office is starting to look like a supermarket! We have cranberries and more cranberries for the feast on Friday. Thanks to everyone who's been sending in things. Keep it coming! If you returned one of the flyers saying you'd send in something, we'll take donations right up until Friday morning (although, please, you can leave the cranberries out of your cart ;). If you didn't send in a flyer and you're wondering how to contribute...we still need pies! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

If you'd like to help in the kitchen, we'll be starting to work (mashing potatoes, making stuffing and gravy, slicing turkeys and pies) around 9:30. Lunch will be served around 11:00 and there's always plenty of food so consider joining us. Of course...there's clean-up after the feast as well. This is a fun day for the students and it's amazing what just a little work on everyone's part adds up to.

The fundraiser was a huge success. We brought in over $4500 in money, of which we'll keep about 40%. Kindergarten brought in the  most money, followed by 4th grade, 8th grade, and 5th grade. Emily Knedel (K) was our ipod touch winner. Brody Elster (K) won the $50 gift card and Travis Jackson (8) won the $25 gift card. Congratulations to all our winners.

We were hoping to include Gold Canyon Candles in our fundraising efforts as well but due to a scheduling conflict did not receive the orders in time. If you are interested in buying candles (or selling some to friends and famliy) there are order forms in the office. Again, about 40% of the profit benefits our school.

Thanks, again, for all your work on behalf of our students. I'm definitely thankful for Alta-Dutch Flat School!
