Navaneetha,

11.1.1.7 is a fusion middleware patch set so WebCenter also has 11.1.1.7

If you want to migrate from using JDev PS5 to JDev PS6 you have to make sure you upgrade your middleware stack as well so upgrade WebCenter to 11.1.1.7

Regards

Yannick

Subject: [ADF EMG] Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7 Feedback & Suggestions

For one of the clients that i am currently working with, We have developed couple of web center framework projects using JDeveloper PS5/11.1.1.6.
The applications are very stable.

Oracle have a new release Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7 this April. We are starting on new project based on Web center portal framework.
Can we use Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7 for this? We went thru the release notes & we are very pretty excited with the new features.
But is it stable enough?

Can you please share the suggestions/feedback on using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7?

Thanks,
Navaneetha

Thanks Yannick for the inputs.

How stable is the JDeveloper release 11.1.1.7? Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Navaneetha

Just noticed an issue posted by Timo (only in case someone plans to use ADF Tree/Tree Table &  JDK 1.7_17)

https://java.net/projects/adfemg/lists/issues/archive/2013-04/message/8

Backport has been requested for 11.1.1.9.

https://java.net/projects/adfemg/lists/issues/archive/2013-04/message/12

Please ignore if using JDK 1.6_24/1.6_39.

Any suggestions on migrating to 11.1.1.7 from 11.1.1.2, any intermediary upgrades needed? Had any body done these migrations? Appreciate if you can share your experience.

hi Prasad Narahari

- about "Any suggestions on migrating to 11.1.1.7 from 11.1.1.2, any intermediary upgrades needed?"
-- Maybe the "Migration Support Matrix" can help
at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html#Migration
It currently says that going from one version to the next is "Certified" (so 11.1.1.2 to 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.1.4 to 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7) and that going from 11.1.1.2 to 11.1.1.7 is "Supported".
Maybe someone from Oracle or someone with related experience can suggest what the best option is here.

11.1.1.2 is pretty much stable with new features added (check Duncan's blog). The only problem we still have is the memory leaks issue on Jdev.

Hi
I use 11.1.1.7 but in af table when I want to use paging if there are more than 10000 pages the length of text box of page number is not enough and when in table we have 2 or 3 column navigation bar of paging does not show complete

I have to ask:  WHY do you have an application with a table with more than 10,000 pages?  No-one is EVER going to look at 10,000 pages - if they go beyond 3 or 4, that would surprise me.  Wouldn't it be better to filter your output?

Hi John
We develop a BI application and on our bussiness 1000000 record is not too much and we need a page too filter records .I think oracle and adf is create to handle large application and large data

@John - That is correct suggestion.

Why don't you render the page with no rows and atleast make one compulsory selection (Selectively Required af:query) , So
you have filtered output.

I render page at first with no rows but We have a datawarehouse and there is no way to have a good search condition to return less rows

Gang – entirely my fault, ‘cause I started it, but I should not have gone off-topic with my reply.  This thread is starting to go astray.  If you all want to continue to talk about options for a large result set, would you please start a new thread.
