Hi Dana,
Thanks. I’ve signed up.
Could you please, please have a section in the newsletter for those of us that are in the process of moving from Oracle forms to ADF. Typical topics to include are those that are not covered in tutorials.
Some of the Topics that will be interesting for us will be:
· Since forms are single programs i.e. *.fmb;
o Ideas on grouping these forms programs within projects,
o how this grouping of programs affect subversion and deployment,
o How shared libraries, used in forms environment, are to be handled,
o How business logic used in forms, where to house them? Within SQL functions or within programs.
· Traps and Tips for newbies and from newbies. Sometimes small things to us sets the “light bulb” on; that the ADF gurus take for granted,
· What to look out for when sessions is not dedicated as in forms:
o How to use Global variables,
o Global Temporary tables will not work in ADF environment
Thanks
Mukesh Kesa

hi Mukesh, I'll leave Dana to comment on the newsletter section, but I wanted to alert you to a paper myself and Lynn Munsinger wrote which covers (generally) some of your points.

Don't know if you'd seen this?
In some ways, you have to throw away your Forms constraints, because they were constraints of Forms, not ADF. So, while its not wrong to tackle a Forms redevelopment one FMB at a time, maybe you should be thinking about the partitioning based on business function - not FMBs.
Also, sometimes, the way you did something in Forms was to work around a Forms limitation or just the way it worked. For example, global variables might hold data context as you switch forms. But because ADF splits the UI and business service, you might find that multiple pages are just pointing at the same business service and so that information is already in context and doesn't need to be mapped as a global...Anyway, that was more that you were asking for...
Happy to help you with any other specific questions and any other content you think is needed for the Forms to ADF audience, let me know.
thanks
