What would you like to see at Oracle OpenWorld 2013?

The call for papers for Oracle OpenWorld/Oracle Develop/JavaOne 2013 is open now.

I thought it would be a good idea to ask the members of the ADF EMG group what topics and sessions they would like to see this year.

This might also give some ideas to people who are thinking about submitting abstracts to the conference.

Also if you have other cool ideas about ADF activities you would like to see at OpenWorld lets here those as well.

So what session would make the trip to San Francisco worthwhile for you?

Don't they co-ordinate with IOUG at all??? Submissions deadline is April 12, which is the last day of Collaborate... you'd think they'd give us at least one extra week. Sheesh...

I would love to see a presentation that talks about deployment of ADF applications to WebLogic Server.  How do you get and install the right ADF Libraries?  How do you deploy from JDev?  How do you build an EAR and deploy it to standalone WebLogic Server?  When should you deploy your custom ADF Library JAR files as stand-alone and when should you include them in the application’s /lib?  How do you set up a security provider and how does that relate to security configuration in the application?  What is different about the data source configuration for testing in the integrated WLS vs. for production?

 

A lot to cover in one presentation – maybe it needs two.  I’d think about offering to do this myself, but I’m hardly an expert – I’ve experimented and found what works for us, but I’m not at all sure we’ve done it the optimal way.

This session would cover development patterns and anti patterns, the pitfalls, configuration and deployment must knows.

I agree with Cüneyt. The last two years ADF EMG sessions on Sunday were great.
