Psalm 112:
3b "....and his righteousness endures forever."
6b "....a righteous man will be remembered forever."
9b "....his righteousness endures forever;"

There are so many things to remember about our Savior, Jesus. The time He cured a woman of an issue of blood (Luke 8:43-48), changed water into wine (John 2:1-11), or raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-44). And of course, how can we forget the true reason for Christmas, the birthday of a baby born to a Virgin, fulfilling prophecy of the coming Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14). As memorable as these events are, what initially comes to most minds at the mention of Jesus is His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. It is the foundation for the Gregorian calendar used throughout most of the world, countless hymns, musicals, movies, blogs, and arguably all Christian Sermons. And of course, though many fail to receive it's truth, it answers the question that every soul asks, "Who Am I?"

I often wonder what will be remembered about me not only after I leave this world, but when I've left a meeting, a Christmas party, an airplane seat, or even my home. I shutter to think of the times I failed to mention His name or pray for a hurting heart, responded to my child's mistake with an angry outburst instead of patient understanding, or slandered others under the guise of spiritual "concern".

"But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him." 2 Corinthians 2:14

In 2 Corinthians 2:14, Paul celebrates the two-fold victory Christ always gave throughout his ministerial travels. Paul and company continually experienced the hand of God leading, delivering and comforting them. Additionally, their deep devotion gave rise to an intoxicating fragrance evoking the question, "Excuse me sir, what cologne are you wearing?" Can't you just see the smile forming on Paul's weathered countenance as he boldly exclaims, "Well, it's called 'Godsession! It has notes of frankincense and myrrh, and it comes in a cross shaped bottle. Let me tell you how you too can take possession it!"

"Dear Lord, please forgive me for the times my Godsession smelled more like Me-session. Please help me to daily choose the right perfume, not the subtle 'blend in', going undetectable because it's so similar to everyone else's, or the 'oh so bold', repelling through offense! May I leave a place, this place, with the lingering aroma of Christ, inducing others to spend all they have obtaining it!"
