But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect..." 1 Peter 3:15

Have you ever been confronted with a lie, knew it was a lie, but didn't really know how to defend it? As God's children, we are responsible for knowing why we believe what we believe. Sometimes, it's not enough to just say, "Homosexuality is a sin". We need to understand why it's a sin and point to the Biblical passages that say so, all in love. That means without hypocrisy, without disdain, without condescension, but instead with a desire to see opened eyes and changed hearts.

For the past 7 weeks, my church has been doing a series entitled, "Straight Up, Bold Biblical Answers to Life's Most Important Questions." We've covered topics such as "Are All Religions the Same", "Is There Life After Death", "Can Love Last a Lifetime", and "Are Same Sex Relationships Really the Same?" Just this past week, the question, "Is it Right to Say 'You are Wrong'" was answered. Each topic has been informative, thought provoking, challenging, and sometimes, very convicting.

We are living in a world that continues to bow down to everything but the one true God. Daily, we encounter lies that have become truth for many. Let's make it a point to get understanding so that we can give understanding (Proverbs 4:7...in all thy getting, get understanding).
