When making flan grafts using my usual technique, it is impractical to use the top as the plastic covering needs a flat top as well as a flat base to give good contact.  One of our members suggested using Super Glue (cyanoacrylate).  I was very dubious about this as this glue is highly exothermic thus I thought it might burn the tissue, or even worse get under the scion and prevent healing.  However, a few weeks ago I thought I would try it out.  I made four grafts, two of which took.  I think the two failures were caused by the Super Glue getting underneath the scion.  The grafts were protected with the usual plastic bag I use for “V” grafts.  But they were left on for two not the usual one week.  I doubt I will repeat the experiment.  I got the cyanoacrylate on my fingers and found it unpleasant and difficult to remove.
