to PHP Addendum library
Hi there. My name is Brian Dilley. I'm the creator of and one of the
maintainers for the pmvc framework (found at: http://code.google.com/p/pmvc-framework/
). We are currently implementing some features that would greatly
benefit from having annotation support. My first inclination was to
roll our own (seeing as how the RFC proposal for annotations in the
core php was denied) but during my research on the topic I happened
across the Addendum library and noticed that it's looking for new core
developers.

My question is this: What would the current maintainers of the project
think about the Addendum API being assimilated into the PMVC project
and that being it's new home?

Well I don't really see a reason for incorporating Addendum into a much larger project. Since people definitely want to use addendum outside some specific framework. In this case yours. Having that said... I see no problem if you send patches or feature requests to addendum. And after some successful ones, I am willing to give you even commit bit. Maybe moving to github and allowing forking and pull requests is a good idea to start things moving.

What do you think?

Howdy All

I for one am favor of keeping Addendum as a separate library even though I am integrating it into a library/framework as well.

As well I think a move to github for this sort of project would be very useful and allow for people integrating and using it frameworks to be able to track changes effectively.

Just my 1.543 yen.

I too am integrating into a framework (but I've started using http://code.google.com/p/php-annotations instead of addendum) and had the same thought.  I am more and more though thinking that things need to be done as libraries that can be used anywhere, instead of being locked into a whole framework.  With things like namespaces and dependancy injection techniques I think more components could be done as portable libraries rather than locked to a particular framework.

I wouldn't expect Addendum to require the use of everything in the
framework. In fact, pmvc is eventually going to be split up into many
different libraries that can be used independently.

With that said, i'm getting the feeling that everyone likes addendum
to be it's own project - so it should probably remain that way.

Thanks for your time :)
