Dear ADDA users,
As some of you may know, Dmitry Smunev has been developing ADDA
GUI for a few years. On his behalf, I am glad to announce that a
fully operational version is available at
https://github.com/adda-team/adda-gui . Its main features are:
- Java-based implementation, suitable for any operating system.
- Real-time 3D visualization of a scatterer (for built-in ADDA
shapes, either the smooth shape or its voxel model).
- Automatic downloading of the latest release of ADDA (an
executable for Windows or the latest source with compilation
instructions for Unix and macOS).
- Convenient interface to all ADDA command line options and
parameter files (e.g., for orientation averaging) with brief
explanations.
- Plotting of computed Mueller and the amplitude matrix elements
(versus the scattering angle).
- Automatically stores the results of each simulation (for
convenient display afterwards).
It may greatly help a beginner user to get familiar with ADDA features, including the complete operational understanding of built-in particle shapes. Experienced ADDA users may also enjoy a beautiful 3D visualization.
So we encourage you to give ADDA GUI a try and evaluate for
yourself which value its adds to your workflow. If you notice any
issues or would like to suggest new functionality of ADDA GUI,
please report it at the dedictated issue tracker -
https://github.com/adda-team/adda-gui/issues . Similar to ADDA
itself, many minor issues and development ideas are already there.
Still the current version is both useful and well tested.
Best regards,
Maxim Yurkin.
