"SAFETY FIRST" COMES HOME TO AUSTIN!!!
LOCAL ACTRESS STACEY MEAD SET TO BECOME THE INDIE DARLING OF THE
AUSTIN FILM SCENE!!
Alright kids!!! This is it!! Your chance to see our celebrated short
film "Safety First" on the big screen ight here in the Live Music
Capitol of the World.
Two screenings:
Shorts 2
Friday, October 20
7:30 PM
Stephen F. Austin Theater
(Everyone should come to this screening on the 20th. Why?
Because the Rolling Stones are going to be playing on the 22nd and
someone just gave us tickets so it looks like we probably won't even
be at our screening on the 22nd.
It's free.
And it's the Stones.
So...you know, we can't say no. Don't get us wrong. We like the stones
and everything. It's just that nothing they've done since Tattoo You
(1980) has really been any good. But, still, considering they started
in 1964, going all the way to 1980 ain't a bad ride. But the tickets
were free. And it's October
now, so it probably won't be a thousand degrees outside at the stage
they're playing.)
Shorts 2
Sunday, October 22
9:15 PM
The Hideout Theater
ALSO
Stacey "smead" Mead, aka "Patty S." from "Safety First" will be
appearing in TWO other films at the festival. She plays a farmer's wife
in the short "Alone and Inhuman" and will also be appearing (so we
hear) in the trailer that plays before the majority of the festival
movies. IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, Stacey will also be part of the cast
selected to read the winning scripts from the Austin Film Festival
Script Competition. Holy Crap!!!
Stacey stars in "Alone and Inhuman"
(There's a rumor that Scott makes a cameo as well)

PODCASTS!!!
We made our first attempt at a video podcast - the thing all the kids
are doing these days.
What else are the kids into these days? HOUSE FLIPPING!!
That's where you buy a cheap-ass run down house, fix it up and
(hopefully) sell it back for a profit. You can see a thousand shows
about remodeling and house flipping over on TLC and the Discovery
Channel.
A couple of years ago - before "Flip This House " and "Flip That House
" were on
(YES, they are two different shows!!), we helped a friend make a tape
that he wanted to send into someone at the BBC.
The BBC never picked up the show, but my friends persevered and sent
the tape into Discovery. And lo and behold, the Discovery folks liked
it.
Neil and Graham's show aired on September 30, 2006. It did pretty well
in the ratings and there's talk of....well, there's talk of
"things"...we'll just leave it at that.
You can grab the podcast right there off our homepage. It's right there
at the top.

(If you actually have an iPod, let us know if it works or not!)
We also put a few new postings up there and some videos. So why not
check it out?

LINK OF THE MONTH
"The Glamorous World of Michael A. Pollack"
If you didn't grow up in Houston, you missed out on the phenomenon that
was known as Colonial House Apartments. But thanks to the Interweb, you
can relive the fantasy...
