Hey folks,

Like we were saying. This month has been more than a little crazy. In
addition to everything else going on, we lost a member of the family.

Judy the cat was 20 years old.

In strange coincidence, we also had the oldest cat in the world living
here in Austin for a while...

here's some pictures of judy

============

judy passed away peacefully today at 1:00PM. we didn't want her to get
to a point where she was in pain. we didn't even want her to be
uncomfortable anymore. she let me know on wednesday that it was time
for her to move on. she was as brave today as she has been her entire
life.

judy had her favorite chicken baby food for breakfast. she also had
her most favorite, coveted treat. sour cream. (she would wake up and
come running when i would just open the container). i cleaned her eyes
and brushed her hair. right before we left, the other 3 had formed a
circle around her on the back porch. they were all just lying there
very still.

judy made me laugh many times. once, i made a sandwich and left it on
the coffee table for about 20 seconds. when i came back, it was
obvious she had pulled it off the plate. both pieces of bread (with
mustard and mayo side down) were on the floor. the lettuce leaves were
everywhere. and judy was chowing down on the lunch meat. then there
were numerous incidences involving an almost empty yogurt cup. when i
finished a yogurt, i would let her lick the inside of the cup. almost
everytime it would get stuck on her face. she knew it was stuck. she
would take a few steps backward, but you could see the cup bouncing up
and down from her continuing to lick it. and then i'd pull it off.
laughing.

judy hated to have her ears cleaned. she also hated having her nails
trimmed. and didn't care much for car rides. judy loved sleeping in a
lap and taking a sun bath on the back porch. she loved to clean
scott's head. she loved sleeping on me and my mom's head at night.
judy loved billy and she loved kevin. she also loved all of us.

judy lived in 11 dwellings throughout her life. not once did she react
negatively to a new move. of course she was nervous, but she very
quickly adapted and moved on. she is the bravest cat i've ever known.

everyone that met judy, including every vet she went to, would comment
on how sweet she was. when she was a kitten, she got some ear mite
medicine in her eye. she was walking around with it closed. i could
only think to flush it out in the bathroom sink. she just sat there
while i held her eye open under running water. she never moved.

thank you to all of you for helping me take care of her and for
helping bring her to me. she loved all of you and is thankful for the
attention and extra care you gave her. especially in the last 2 years.
she was definitely worth it. and then some.

judy was the most precious gift to me. she was also my best friend.
judy taught me many things for which i will always be grateful. i will
miss seeing her sweet, beautiful face every day. and i will miss her
love.
