Salisbury Country Club is a private, member-owned country club located in Midlothian, Virginia. The Club features a premier golf facility comprised of 27 holes of golf and a state-of-the-art practice facility offering a unique short game practice area and double range. Additional amenities include an outdoor tennis and pickleball complex, indoor sports facility, outdoor aquatics facility and a clubhouse newly renovated in 2021.
While I have been a member of Salisbury for only a short time, I have spent over 30 years making memories at the Club. I grew up here, even working here for a time, and now a year into our membership, I couldn't be happier about our decision to join. Part of the reason we joined is legacy; as a third-generation member, I have so many cherished memories of being at Salisbury for life's important moments and I knew I wanted to continue that tradition with my own family.
Our family absolutely loves the club and enjoys meeting everyone. This was one of the best decisions we have ever made, joining here. We are so excited for the summer and all the programs we have got the kids in.
Staff members have been instrumental with introducing us to other members every time we are at the club. This has allowed us to meet more people and feel like we actually belong here. We are definitely blessed and extremely happy to be a part of the Salisbury family
In 1906, Mr. Ellis Gimbel and several of Philadelphia's captains of commerce and industry came together to form a country club dedicated to golf, baseball, tennis, and the pursuit of happiness through social interaction.
In 1922, the Club ushured in a new era of golf exhibitions, staging events that featured the world's best golfers. Just a few days after winning the U.S. Open, Gene Sarazen played an exhibition match at Philmont.
Construction on the tennis pavilion was completed in 1976, replacing the existing "bubble" and providing the membership with a great space for indoor tennis. At the time, Philmont had a total of 15 courts.
Over the years, numerous additions and modifications have been made to keep the Club up-to-date. In 2019, a five million dollar renovation was completed. The renovation touched nearly all parts of the Club including golf, tennis, the pool, and clubhouse.
