Got a new iPhone 14PM with esim. Handy to drop in a local physical sim if need be. Voda roaming is okay for a couple of days to a week but any longer and you could be paying more than your monthly plan costs. Obviously there are things that need a local number as well.
As I entered Singapore recently the immigration officer said that next time I could use the E gate.
She mentioned that I should fill out the arrival e form and it should tell me to use e gate
Sounds great if that is how it works as I often do a landside transfer or overnight stay in Singapore.
I wonder if it also works at the land border from Malaysia
2nd visit to Singapore... already been to most of the tourist sites I wanted to visit. Just wondering is Sentosa worth checking out if I haven't been before? Not really planning to do any of the activities there or go to Universal Studios.
I'd say if you're not going to Universal or SEA, it's probably not worth it. I guess you can always just head to Harbourfront SC / Vivocity and walk the boardwalk across to Sentosa if you want to check it out.
But pre-covid i had gotten -depart/for-visitors/FTP
if you travelled to singapore at least twice in the last 2 years then you can apply...and basically meant i could go straight through the automated lanes every time, even through the Woodlands checkpoint.
worth it in what respect? what would make you interested in it if you are not going to do any activities there. you mean you would do the free stuff? i think skywalk and fort siloso is fine (some nice views over reflections@keppel bay), you can also scramble down the ladder btw right at the tip. you can also cross the swing bridge across palawan beach. there's also Imbiah Nature Trail i guess you can walk from here all the way to fort siloso if you want.
this is also new and free -to-do/attractions/sentosa-musical-fountain/ and magical shores i haven't done that yet.
Fort Serapong if you want to see ruined defence structures from the british times and then Sentosa Cove if you want to see where all the rich people with fancy yachts live.
so i mean there's definitely stuff there to do if you don't want to spend the money. up to you whether you want to check that off your list because Sentosa in itself is one of the main tourist sites of Singapore.
I would say a good number have a QR code you can scan now for digital payments but I'm not sure if non-locals will be able to access the supported digital wallets like PayNow etc. You will usually see a QR code print out with the supported digital payment systems under it.
Singapore airlines have shafted me with a schedule change resulting in a 9 hour stopover. Looking at jewel but is it feasible to try and go to the night tours (near the casino or the gardens there ) comfortable that wouldn't have to be at the gate for next flight until midnight?
I think it's doable. Assuming you need to get back to the airport around 10pm while most places start closing 9-ish anyway so just hope into a taxi and it should take you approximately 30 minutes to get to the airport.
If you want some cheap eats, head to Chinatown and the surrounds, you'll find Chinatown Complex, Maxwell Food Centre and Lau Pa Sat all within a 10-15min walk from the main Chinatown area / MRT station.
I will be arriving 6:40pm at Changi Airport. I was hoping to visit the Marina Bay Sands Observation Deck to see the fireworks show at 9:30pm. I was wondering will I have enough time to get there considering I will need to first make my way to Carlton Hotel to check in?
Should make it. Get out of the airport within 45mins, an hour on the MRT to City Hall station, walk 5 mins to the hotel, check in and dump your bags, 14mins on bus 113 to Bayfront Station Exit A, walk 5mins and you're at the Skypark entrance.
Just note the Skypark entrance is outside, on your right and down the escalator. Don't go in to the main MBS Tower 3 entrance. You'll see the Skypark counter in front of a big blue wall, and the entrance is behind you when you're facing that blue wall.
ouu good to know. expensive?! did you see that list i provided someone else /thread/90k4jwk3?p=233#r4647 it was one of the cheapest! i mean they had even more people but i swear prices of everything :( yeah what lacks in style perhaps is made up by the location which is good, short walk to the centre of chinatown and clarke quay
and christmas themed and cloud forest transformed into some kind of avatar experience but yeah orchard road will be lit up and decorated and the malls will have different christmas themed sculptures and places to take photos and big christmas trees.
Not at MBS but viewing Fireworks show from there. Maybe the fireworks are only on special occasion. But still there is the nightly light show and Garden by the Bay lights up...I imagine it would be decent view from up there?
no there's no fireworks...there's only fireworks like in august for the national day and rehearsals beforehand and like around the chinese new year time...and maybe at deepavali utsavam but not at marina bay... things like that but there's no fireworks every night. and i don't think at the time you are going either. so yeah you don't have to rush there for what? but if you want to go to mbs observation deck you can always go before sunset and then afterwards too to experience a little of day and night.
yes on the Friday that you arrive there is nightly sound & light show at 8, 9 and 10pm infront of marina bay sands shoppes and gardens by the bay show at 7:45pm and 8:45pm. However from personal experience it is better if you are down closer to it as you can actually hear it better, the sound experience is better rather than from so high up. Same with the garden rhapsody show at gardens by the bay, the experience is better to be there lying down looking up at the trees and hearing and seeing it up close.
yes. more relaxed. although obviously the workers are dressed up a little more in the cbd zone but i mean everyday citizens walking around, it's casual. yes ang moh is the term. you won't be disrespecting anyone wearing tshirt and shorts. obviously if you are going to some fancy bar or somewhere more formal you'd dress up a little better.
Eleven new MRT stations on the Thomson East Coast Line opening in November. Improved access to Gardens by the Bay and Maxwell Food Center, or Buddha Tooth Relic Temple if you don't like food lol

I am thinking of extending my holiday after Singapore and buying a ticket to Tokyo (It's cheaper to fly out from Singapore). Does anyone know what would happen if I don't board my return flight from Singapore to Sydney with Scoot? I assume I won't get charged for no show?

Keep in mind 24 October is a public holiday in Singapore. Everything will still be open but the streets may be busier than usual. Might even be worth a trip over that weekend to Little India to check out the Diwali lights.
haha yes
here's some places you would not have been or seen when you went that kids could also enjoy (doesn't mean you have to or have time do everything on this list!)
-Jurong Lakeside Garden (i've been here and the kids will love the playground here Forest Ramble (Nature Playgarden) and also Clusia Cove) if you are on that side of Singapore (you can add it on after the jurong bird park)
-gardens by the bay---they have expanded it, you now have floral fantasy, kingfisher wetlands, serene garden, Supertree Observatory and of course the avatar themed experience at the cloud forest
-hydrodash, magical shores, nestopia, sentosa musical fountain and skyjet, trickeye @ southside, skyhelix and a minion's perspective pop-up experience, -lunch-sail/, -boo-sea at Sentosa island
-if you like cycling then the jurassic mile near Changi airport
-time capsule at singapore flyer
-ice hotel gallery at snow city
-Museum of Ice Cream
-Coastal PlayGrove at East Coast Park
-National Orchid Garden-revamped/Learning Forest/COMO Adventure Grove @ Singapore Botanic Gardens
-house of dreams exhibition at ion art gallery (big barbie doll collection)
- -on/programmes/detail/deepavali-2022
-
-MHC ClosingFest
-kiztopia for an indoor playground experience
-if you are departing from t3 -precinct/hello-changi-precinct.html
it's gonna take longer than that if you want your kids to do the attractions there but a quick see through it's ok...can always go to jewel when you land to eat something and then you'll see the waterfall at least after you eat and then go to hotel. although with the kids would they want to eat straight after a flight?
mmm i mean 12 hrs at the jewel is kinda long...although look at me i spent like 8 hrs from like 3:30 to 11:30pm one day and did all that plus eating plus sitting around chilling for a little bit, walking around...so i mean you can spend less time than that if you want...12 hours is too long unless you are going to watch a movie too at shaw theatres? lol
