Dear Dr. Treindl and the ADBusers Group,
There appears to be a problem with the WebUpdate Tool that the Astrodatabank Wiki
at www.astro.com reports is still available for use. The issue is this: The WebUpdate tool
fails to continue to update the Astrodatabank database beyond an upper limit of 75864
records.

Specifically, on December 15th, 2022, I used the WebUpdate Tool in an Astrodatabank
installation via a Virtual Machine running Windows XP-SP3 in a Windows 10 environment. The WebUpdate Tool presented a window reporting 4317 new records and 5094 modified records. This was as expected.

However, here is the problem: Every time I have run the WebUpdate Tool since then
(multiple times over several months), it immediately returns its "Update" statistics
window, reporting 0 new records and 0 modified records, with the total number of
records in the database remaining unchanged at 75864.

Several months ago I reviewed a notice on the Astrodatabank Wiki that some procedures (and possibly programming) had changed regarding modifications-updates, and adding new records to the database. Perhaps some change in these procedures and programming has impacted how the WebUpdate functions, such that despite changes and additions reported in "New pages" and "Recent changes" on the website, the WebUpdate Tool has stopped updating the database-since at least May, 2023 for me. I have tried many times since then to update, but always the tool returns 0 new records and 0 modified records.

Please help, as I am using the Astrodatabank database via Astrodatabank 4.0, in my medical astrology research integrating Vedic astrology, Ayurvedic medicine, and Western medicine. Statistical methods often require a minimum number of cases, and if I cannot continue to update and grow ADB, I will likely get stuck or not be able to generate accurate analyses.

Please let me know what I can do to maintain a fully updated ADB.

Thank you for your kind consideration,
     Dr. Ari Davis, Ph.D.

Dear ADBusers Representative,

I understand, but am very disappointed.

Is there any procedure available for programmers to acquire

updates, or the current, updated database? This is solely for

private research, absolutely no commercial applications.

Thank you,

   Dr. Ari Davis
