As we all know, astrologers everywhere are always conducting some sort of research, but most of it is only cherry-picking, but that is potentially quite valuable for providing leads.

We also have data mining, which is what I do mostly, but always with an eye out for interesting results that correspond with standard astrology teachings.

If (Tropical) astrology HAD any specific claims to test, we would be constructing standard "scientific type" tests, but, as strange as it will seem to some people,  we don't have any. If we did, someone, somewhere would be able to quote such important things ad verbatim.

Now, thanks to the Astrodienst company and Alois, we have very large amounts of research data being made available, and some of the more dedicated astrology researchers will be using it, after converting it to suit their own software and interests, but the average astrologer who doesn't own research software like Jigsaw cannot, without a  lot of effort, "get in the loop" if they want to do any data mining because there is no easy way in existence for even the standard astrological factors to be calculated for a batch of data.

So what we need is a program (commercial or free) that will read simple Input files in CSV format and provide output for the standard planets and points.

Some of those astrologers with programming experience could easily write such a basic free program that would run on WIN 10, by tapping into the free version of the Swiss Ephemeris, or someone could write a commercial version with many more factors included, however that would mean acquiring a licence from Astrodienst.

Once anyone HAD such calculated data, some could process it MS Excel or an equivalent, or in a whole array of relatively simple home made proograms.

Alphee Lavoie has something like that. There's a $299 version, but I
distinctly remember a free one at some point; I'll ask him.
