have to use multiple, multiple back clicks to get to previous page

I have noticed that on the pages that ads are blocked, now I am having to use the back button many, many times to just back up one page.  It is as though, I have to click the back button for each and every ad that is blocked before I can return to the previous page.

 

Can this be prevented?  How can I return to previous page without this aggravation?  It is almost easier to endure the ads, which I am doing on some sites – like Amazon.com

 

Any insight or help?
