Hello everyone,

It's been a while. Life has happened for me unfortunately. Between having to quit my job in June and having to sort out my own finances in the mean time because my current job doesn't pay enough, it's made things a little rough for me to spend some extra time helping out. But... Things are changing for me again. I'm starting a new job in two weeks that will get me more income and (finally) a more consistent 8-5 M-F schedule. That will help me get more grounded and sort everything out.

That aside, the bad news is my laptop is dead (sort of). The hard drive finally failed after almost 6 years (not too bad eh?) and I can't really afford to replace it. Not only that, if I did, I don't have a working copy of Windows 7 for that anyway. It's time for a new laptop considering it's age. I'm writing this from my roommate/friend's laptop which he lets me borrow now. Once I start my new job here soon, get a steady income and start to pay off my debt, I will purchase a new laptop. I'm not sure how soon that will be. No worries though.

I have been mostly keeping up with recent developments. I get the e-mails on my phone so I am able to read the important things (such as the Volunteer UI and stuff like that). I try to sort though all the things I can. I can't access tracker as much as I would like though but I do keep up with what I can.

Anyway, I thought I would say hi and let everyone know that I'm still around. I hope I can contribute a bit more here in the near future.

Hi Drew, great to hear from you!

Sorry that your old job didn't work out, but I hope that your new one is everything you hope it will be.  If you do find some breathing room it'll be nice to see you around more often, but life comes first :)

I've never tried accessing the project page by phone; I just tried faking it in Chrome and it's not great... so best of luck finding a good cheap laptop.

I don't access the project page by my phone. I get project updates by e-mail which I can access from my phone. That's how I've kept up with things. It does tend to clog up my inbox though :)

Similar situation on my side :( My laptop is also dead.. sort of. I can't afford parts + repair right now, so I'll be offline for god knows how long. Wanted to say you've done a great job and continue searching for that perfect design!

The laptop plague sweeping the country is just terrible.

Yuck, sorry to hear that.

Thanks a bunch for the encouragement!  Looking forward to seeing you again when you get back online.

Tip for Drew: Something I do is to set up a rule (should be able to do it from GMail's Basic HTML view - http://mail.google.com/?ui=html is the shortcut link) to move anything from adblockforchrome-*@googlegroups.com into a separate label (In my case, Notifications/adblockforchrome - have Nested Labels and SmartLabels Labs on). That way it doesn't clog up my inbox, and anything I'm Cc-ed in still goes to my Inbox, as that comes from adblockf...@googlecode.com, which is unaffected by the rule.
