Investigating Adaptrade Builder Crashing

I am experiencing an odd situation that has happened over the past couple of days. I began a build in Adaptrade Builder  and I locked my computer while it ran.

A few hours later, when I return and log into my computer, Adaptrade Builder was completely "blank" with no explanation about what happened (see attached image).

Looking into Windows Event Logs, I see an error (also attached) but not sure what is the best way to address this?  Does Builder save its own logs somewhere to troubleshoot issues like this?

Thanks!

I haven't seen a problem when "locking" Windows, but I'll look into it. There's no good way to log unpredictable events like that without slowing down the program to a large degree.

Thanks Mike. Understood - this is a tricky thing to troubleshoot. I will keep looking on my end.

The only “tricky” thing about it is that I have to lock Windows when testing it. Are you sure the problem only occurs when Windows is locked?

I think the lock is coincident and not an immediate factor for the problem.  The tricky part about this is that the error code registered in the Windows Event Viewer is pretty ambiguous.

Don't worry about trying to fix it - I will figure it out.

The error codes in the Windows Event Viewer are just low level error codes for Windows and are not helpful in debugging high level code. If Builder is crashing for any reason, I’d like to know why. If you’re able to send me your project file and price data, I’d like to look into it. Thanks.

I believe the issue had to do with the number of markets being tested upon, and the number of years I was testing (using daily bars). When I reduced the number of markets and the lookback period, I am no longer seeing this error.

The number of markets and the length of the data should only make a difference if it causes you to exceed your computer’s memory limit, which you can see in the Memory Usage indicator in the lower right corner of the program.
