Hi adaptive development folks,

Can we talk about something our field rarely names?

We've built whole practices around the idea that programs should flex to local realities. We test, learn, adjust, and resist one-size-fits-all blueprints, and we know rigid templates fail people.

Yet many of us are quietly running a one-size-fits-all template on ourselves. We soften our tone for the donor call. We flatten our accent for the steering committee. We get feedback to be "more polished" or "more confident" with no clear definition of either.

The research on what makes leaders "read" as credible has genuinely shifted. Authenticity now matters almost as much as polish. But "polish" was never neutral, and the people who defined it mostly already looked the part. So when the advice is just be yourself, it can feel less like permission and more like a test nobody explained.

That's exactly what I'd love to dig into with you on Tuesday, October 13.

Fluency, Not Erasure: Executive Presence in a System Not Built for Us is a FREE 90-minute workshop. We'll look honestly at what "executive presence" has meant, what has genuinely shifted, and what still hasn't, so you can stop guessing at a moving target and start choosing, on purpose, how you show up.

Together, we'll work through:

✅ A real, working model of executive presence: the actual mechanics, not the mystique. That means what's rewarded, what has shifted, and what the research quietly leaves out for leaders like us.
✅ Your Translator check-in: an honest look at where you've been converting yourself into something a room will accept, and what that has been costing you.
✅ Your Anchors & Dials map: naming which parts of you are non-negotiable and which parts can flex without costing you anything real.
✅ One move for your next high-stakes room: something small enough to actually happen in the next two weeks, not a personality overhaul.
✅ Your Authenticity Anchors workbook: yours to keep coming back to long after we log off.

You'll also be in (virtual) breakout rooms with other leaders who get it. For many people, that's the part they remember most.

You shouldn't have to choose between being taken seriously and being yourself. Let's figure out what fluency looks like for you, without the erasure.

I'd really love to see you there.

Warmly,
Maya 🧡

P.S.: If you attend live, you'll get an early-bird code for 10% off Flourish Fellowship Cohort 4. It's valid through October 15, and spots are limited.
