Hello,

I hope you’re well. I’m reaching out to share free resources and a professional development opportunity that may be of interest to you or your colleagues working in the evaluation community.

M&E specialists are increasingly called to design processes that go beyond linear frameworks, responding to the complexity of social change and the lived realities of diverse stakeholders. The resources below offer critical insights and practical tools to support that shift:

Participatory Methods Hub: A rich collection of tools, frameworks, and case studies for integrating stakeholder-driven approaches into MEL—especially with marginalised groups.

Dignity in Development Seminar: This recorded IDS session explores how development programmes can better embed dignity in their practice, and the role MEL systems can play in identifying and addressing dignity-related gaps.

In-person PMEL Course 2025: To support M&E professionals to strengthen their participatory practice, IDS is offering a five-day in-person course on Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation for Learning in Belgrade, Serbia, from 22–26 September 2025. The course will enable participants to improve their monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems, using participatory and adaptive practices.

Click here to watch a short video filmed by Isabel Soloaga, for a real glimpse into the training and to hear from past participants on how the training deepened their understanding of learning-oriented, complexity-aware MEL.

If you think this might be of interest to your network or colleagues, we would be very grateful if you could help spread the word.

Looking forward to staying in touch!
