Dear all
It’s the time of the year when I share the dates for our next Political Economy Analysis (PEA) online courses.
PEA helps us better understand the contexts in which we operate so that we can implement more effective strategies or programmes. It is particularly relevant for those working in international affairs, such as development or diplomacy, and local actors pursuing reforms.
The Policy Practice and ODI run the flagship Political Economy Analysis in Action online training course (3 February to 5 June 2025). It will equip participants with the tools and the confidence to undertake a PEA, and to apply it to policy and programmes in a wide range of contexts. Eight sessions over a 17-week period require about four hours of study per week (with a mix of self-study, online Study Group discussions and tasks and webinars, supported by an interactive platform). Participants can apply online here by 30 November to take advantage of our Early Bird offer.
The Policy Practice will also run a shorter online Political Economy Analysis for Climate Action course in May 2025. Based on the flagship course, it focuses on how PEA can maximise the effectiveness of action on climate change. Its eight interactive two-hour sessions are spread over four weeks. Participants can register their interest here.
Please feel free to share this email with your colleagues and networks. I’m copying in our Training Manager, Samantha Wade, if you have any questions.
Best wishes
Laure-Hélène
