Please see the information below and attached about the 8th Annual Destination East Point event from the East Point Main Street Association!
“East Point Main Street Association (EPMSA) proudly presents Destination East Point: A Fall Celebration October 6, 2012 from 1:00 pm-7:00 pm (Fall Carnival from Oct.2-Oct.7) in the East Point Commons Area located across from the EP Marta station at 2757 East Point Street, East Point, GA 30344.
The Destination East Point 2012 event will be like no other! EPMSA is bringing exciting new events and attractions to our annual fall celebration. A Gospel Showcase featuring several choirs will be one of the many highlights of this year’s fall celebration. A host of other activities include an interactive circus performance by The Imperial OPA and a fun for all ages Carnival featuring your favorite midway games, attractions, and tasty treats. Attendees are invited to participate in the pie baking contest, pumpkin decorating contest, and chili cook-off with each category awarding cash prizes and blue ribbons. The much enjoyed pooch parade will be back again this year along with the new Chicken Strut, so be sure to bring your furry and feathered friends out to participate!
Another new addition to this year's event: Building On Community: the EPMSA invites all ALL Non-profit groups including Churches, Auxiliary groups, Booster organizations and Alumni groups, neighborhood associations and East Point businesses to come out and celebrate while promoting their entity as a fundraising/promotional vehicle. Sign up to present a booth so that residents and visitors alike may learn more about the special sense of community that makes East Point a city of neighbors. Come on out for this grand celebration and Fall in love with the East Point community!
About the East Point Main Street Association:
The mission of the EPMSA board is “To preserve and enhance the downtown area as the heart of East Point, communicating a sense of place, community pride and heritage, while providing for a successful business and residential environment.”
The EPMSA hosts several events throughout the year including The Farmer's Market, Taste of East Point, 4th of July Celebration, and Destination East Point. The board is comprised of East Point resident volunteers that devote their time and creativity to planning and executing events while building a greater sense of community, supporting local businesses, and promoting growth and attention to the downtown area.”
