Contact:  William Perry, Executive Director, Common Cause Georgia WPe...@CommonCause.org - mobile 678-358-6966 - office 404-524-4598  November 12, 2012 For Immediate Release CCGA To Hold Forum For Greater Public Input On New Stadium Watchdog group hosts public event at Morehouse College with GWCC & Falcons (invited)   Atlanta, GA - A public forum on the proposed new Atlanta Falcons stadium will be held on Monday, November 26 from 7 to 8 PM on the campus of Morehouse College.  The purpose of the forum is to highlight the need for greater public input on the proposed billion dollar project, of which, an estimated $300 million of taxpayer money will be used.   Forum/Panel Discussion on the proposed new stadium Monday, November 26, 2012 - 7 to 8 PM Morehouse College (Sale Hall Chapel) Hosted by Common Cause Georgia   Panel Participants: Frank Poe, Executive Director, GWCC Wyc Orr, Boardmember, CCGA Rich McKay, President, Atlanta Falcons (invited)   "It is important for both Atlanta and Georgia taxpayers to engage in the process and make sure their voices are heard," said Common Cause Georgia Boardmember Wyc Orr.  "Our goal is to host an event that will give the public an update on negotiations between the Georgia World Congress Center, a public authority, and the Atlanta Falcons, a private entity, but certainly one that highly values and needs the public trust. This is an opportunity for all members of the public to have direct, person-to-person communications with those who are conducting these negotiations which will have such a direct impact on the public treasury." Frank Poe, Executive Director of the GWCC has confirmed his participation in a panel discussion for the forum, which will also include Orr.  CCGA has invited Falcons' President Rich McKay or a representative to participate as well, but have not yet received a response to the invitation.  Orr recently issued a blog on behalf of Common Cause Georgia titled "Opened roof, closed doors" stating that there is a need for greater public input in the negotiations process.  This is the official position of the organization, however, the group does not oppose or support the concept of the proposed venue.
