GPower is a tool to compute statistical power analyses for many different t tests, F tests, χ2 tests, z tests and some exact tests. G*Power can also be used to compute effect sizes and to display graphically the results of power analyses.

If you use G*Power for your research, then we would appreciate your including one or both of the following references (depending on what is appropriate) to the program in the papers in which you publish your results:


Improvements in the logistic regression module: (1) improved numerical stability (in particular for lognormal distributed covariates); (2) additional validity checks for input parameters (this applies also to the poisson regression module); (3) in sensitivity analyses the handling of cases in which the power does not increase monotonically with effect size is improved: an additional Actual power output field has been added; a deviation of this actual power value from the one requested on the input side indicates such cases; it is recommended that you check how the power depends on the effect size in the plot window.


Fixed a problem in the test of equality of two variances. The problem did not occur when both sample sizes were identical.

Fixed a problem in calculating the effect size from variances in the repeated measures ANOVA.


Added an options dialog to the repeated-measures ANOVA which allows a more flexible specification of effect sizes.

Renamed the Repetitions parameter in repeated measures procedures to Number of measurements (Repetitions was misleading because it incorrectly suggested that the first measurement would not be counted).

Fixed a problem in the sensitivity analysis of the logistic regression procedure: There was an error if Odds ratio was chosen as the effect size. The problem did not occur when the effect size was specified in terms of Two probabilities.


The Window menu now contains the option to hide the distributions plot and the protocol section (Hide distributions & protocol menu item) so that G*Power can be accommodated to small screens. This option has been available for some time in the Windows version (see View menu).

Fixed a bug in the function calculating the CDF of the noncentral t-distribution that occasionally led to (obviously) wrong values when p was very close to 1. All power routines based on the t distribution were affected by this bug.

Sometimes some of the variables were not correctly set in the plot procedure which led to erroneous values in the graphs and the associated tables.

The distribution/protocol view and the test/analysis selection view in the main window can be hidden temporarily to save space. To hide/show these sub-views press F4 (plot/protocol) and F5 (test/analysis), respectively, while the main window is active. There are also corresponding entries in the View menu.

The Graph window can now be made resizable. To do this choose "Resizable Window" in the View menu of the Graph window. Besides enabling (restricted) resizability this option initially shrinks the window to a size that fits into a 800 x 600 screen. Deselecting the option restores the Graph window to the fixed size for which G*Power was optimized.

Regardless of how you install Power BI Desktop, the monthly versions are the same, although the version numbering might differ. As you can see, lscfg -vps -l proc0 is the same for both, so you can not differentiate the processor version with it. But prtconf shows different values for processor version, so it is safe to say that PV_5_X is POWER+?


We are trying to use Sharepoint to version Control Power BI pbix Files So: Create a Sharepoint Pbix Folder 'Sync' the Folder Locally. Go to Sharepoint. Check out the File Go to the Local pbix file in File Explorer. Work on the file and Save to save the amendments into the Sharepoint pbix File Then go to Sharepoint, Check back in and add comments on what has been done. However its currently not working and we can't figure out where the problem lies. The Error Message is:


Access to 'C:Users\UserName\Example Company\Esample Project pbix Files\Example.pbix' is denied We don't seem to have anything set up that would cause this inability to save documents in this area. I wonder if anyone else has had this issue and managed to get it resolved?


This is a real bummer. I'm not sure setting up an entirely new Sharepoint Team site is a realistic option for us. I'll check with our Sharepoint admin to see if there's not some way around that option by massaging the settings on the new document library in our existing site. Ugh. OneDrive: You can reference a file in two ways, either the local copy, or the original on the sharepoint. If you choose to reference the local copy you will run into trouble later because the service doesn't know how to get there without a (personal) gateway. So you should always reference the network instance.


Although, unlike the past projects that I have left abandoned on the side of the road (cough fe6a cough), this project is actually mostly completed, so I plan to have part 2 released sometime in March and the entirety of part 3 done by this time next year (assuming I write all of the supports of course).

This project has actually been in the books for about a year, I started messing with ideas and story off and on while doing FE6A. So, a lot of ideas I initially planned for FE6A ended up here (to preserve the FE6-ness of it). As a result, I have no plans to ever return to FE6 and Elibe again; sorry for those who were waiting for FE6A HM, hopefully this sates that interest.


Heya, been a decent amount of time since the release, so I guess I can post an update to the current version. As always, big thanks to my playtesters and others for pointing out bugs and errors to address.

We have a power bi file which we're saving on teams/sharepoint. The frustrating thing is that when i go to open (whether into the app or a browser) from teams/sharepoint, it's not opening the most recent version. I can't discern a pattern as to which version it's choosing. Currently when I open, version 9 of 12 versions is opening. Version 9 is one I saved, but it's not my most recent version I created, which is version 11. A co-worker who is also sharing was getting version 10 to open but is now getting version12. He could not open my most recent version. Again, I'm not seeing a difference as to whether I open in the app or open in the browser, though most of my testing has been done using open in the app. We also tested the sharing function, and it doesn't seem to matter whether someone is part of a group or if it is shared directly to a person.


@cro1100 Unfortunately, Power BI does not sync directly with the built-in version histories of these platforms. Instead, Power BI relies solely on timestamps to determine the latest version. Directly saving over an existing file preserves the original timestamp. To Power BI, such outdated files can incorrectly seem more "recent". To work around this, I advise to utilize "Save As" to create a new file with an updated timestamp each time changes occur.


This guarantees Power BI will view the iteration as distinct and current. Share direct links to the precise intended version file. Avoid depending on library views which may highlight the wrong timestamped copy.
