The days get greyer but the lectures remain exciting. Tune in for Jordi Garcia-Ojalvo's October lecture:
On dynamical internal representations in cells
Oct 23, 5-6pm CEST
Abstract:
In this talk, Jordi argues that cells model their complex time-dependent environments through dynamical internal representations encoded in their molecular repertoire. Using bacteria as an example, he will discuss the structural requirements that biological networks need to fulfill in order to serve as canvases in which such internal models can be encoded dynamically, and used to guide cellular behavior in response to an uncertain external world.

Jordi Garcia-Ojalvo is professor of Systems Biology at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona with research focus on characterising the dynamics of living systems and using this knowledge to understand how such dynamics underlie natural computation in a changing and weakly predictable world.
