Both the Swirl Girls need their ponytails re-tied. I am waiting for some tiny rubber bands before I do them properly. I still find doing a swirl a bit tricky but there are several good tutorials so I will keep trying. Titian had her original band but when I picked her up to change her for this post I saw it had perished. Fashion Queen now has a new wig which fits her properly courtesy of Naomi.

The seller of most of these outfits was kind enough to label the bags with the outfit name and number which made them easy to ID. Most are incomplete so I will try to complete them over time. One or two need some repairs which I will do and one or two look like generic or home-made pieces.

Wow what a treat to see a vintage doll fashion show. My favorite outfits are those modeled by Fashion Queen, especially Golden Girl. I love your fashion shows and am looking forward to seeing the Fashion Avenue packs you previewed. Hope you eventually create a doll museum.

The bride dress looks very nice on the American Girl. It really suits her. The Fashion Queen does not look happy about being dressed up in the fancy dress outfit. Maybe she wants to wear her furs and ball gown instead. Midge looks rather bemused by the whole thing. She new she would get stuck with the checked shirt and skirt while the Barbies got all the going out clothes.

I came to Australia with my mother and sister Vanda in 1966 from the UK aboard the Sitmar liner Castel Felice. We settled in South Australia I lived in the western suburbs of Adelaide for most of my life. I became very interested in retro items in my twenties. It was always a dream of mine to have an old house and fill it with retro items. I have done it twice now. My main interest is collecting old things. They do not have to be valuable, only interesting. There is something reassuring about old retro items. I have all sorts of things including doll related items. My other interests are my beautiful pets, art and going for drives to who knows where. I also enjoy board games or doing a scenic jig saw puzzle on a wintry afternoon by the fire. My goal is to travel a bit more as there are some places I would love to see

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.

Brielle received a package in the mail, which contained three different Barbie shirts, a skirt that could be worn with all three shirts, and a Barbie Digital Camera. She was in HEAVEN! She could not wait to try them all on, and snap pictures with her new camera. The clothes are easy for her to get on herself too!

If Brielle had to pick her favorite outfit in the Barbie Clothing Line, it would definitely have to be the skirt and one of the pink shirts. She loves all things pink! I personally loved the little blue t-shirt with the puffy sleeves.

When I told my daughter that I wanted her to try all of her Barbie clothes on and do a fashion show, she was ecstatic! I even swapped out hair clips for each outfit. She felt so pretty, and we had a lot of laughs. It was a fun bonding experience that each mother should have with their daughter(s).

Maddie is a Barbie girl through and through so for her 7th birthday we went full on Malibu Barbie! Not the all-pink look most people do for Barbie parties, we wanted beachy bright colors and fun beachy things like surf boards and beach balls to be in the mix!

The party was BYOB (Bring your own Barbie) so all the guests brought their favorite doll and picked outfits and accessories for them, and had a Barbie doll fashion show. I made the coolest Barbie-sized Boutique + Surf Shop with 2 pools and a sandbox (filled with kinetic sand) and surrounded by fresh flowers and foliage. The girls loved using it for their Barbies and it also functioned as part of the decorations too!

To the right and left of the Barbie-size play area, 2 colorful panels and 2 favor walls were decorated with balloons, inflatable dolphins and beach balls and cut-outs. Favors displayed on the walls included pink heart sunglasses and Barbie scrunchies + croc charms on cute Barbie cards. Other favors included inflatable Barbie pool toys, Barbie clothes + accessories, beach balls and the cutest custom-designed sugar cookies.

However, they started running into copyright issues with their planned adaption of Sleeping Beauty, so they switched gears. Instead, they would make Barbie more Modern. And by that I mean HIP 4 DA KIDZ YO.

While that concept makes me shudder, I like that they decided to make these movies more like Barbie instead of just better stories with Barbie slapped on. So in 2010, they started the Modern Era which is still going to this day.

Because this franchise needed a talking a dog. They are thankfully not voiced by anyone I know. So with a quick travel montage, Barbie arrives in Paris. We cut to Ken hanging out with local Alpha Bitch Raquelle, voiced by Lightning Dust. Christ, is everypony gonna show up?

Angry, they decide to give Millicent a piece of their minds. They confront her right away, since this movie decides not to pad things out further. Except there was a scene with Ken in-between this that I skipped because it was stupid.

Anyway, this is cool and all but they should still try to find the fairies due to the fact that missing people is a bad thing. But we just we get a montage of them getting ready for the fashion show. Uh, guys? Fairies? Missing? Gonna get on that?

The villains, Soanta, and Ken especially give us some fun moments and this one had more of a sense of fun than the others, which were kind of dreary. I even liked a few of the characters, as some were amusing and I did like the lengths Ken went for Barbie. It also had a couple nice nice moments.

Millicent's is a location in Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale. It is a fashion house in Paris, France, owned by and named after Millicent, Barbie's aunt. Jacqueline's, a rivalling fashion house, is across the street from Millicent's. Millicent's is the home of the Glitterizer and the flairies: Shyne, Shimmer and Glimmer. Marie-Alecia works at Millicent's as a fashion designer.

Millicent's designs was stolen by Jacqueline, the owner of Jacqueline's, and her assistant Delphine, and they're claimed the designs as their owns. Because Millicent and her fashion designer Marie-Alecia have no idea to create the new design, Millicent's was bankrupt. She sell the fashion house to the owner of the hotdogeteria restaurant, and plan to moving to the country due to being unsuccessful.

After Barbie and Marie-Alecia meets the Flairies, Barbie has an idea, with Marie-Alecia's new design ideas, and the helping from the Flairies, they'll make a fashion show to raise money, to buy the fashion house back from the owner of hotdogeteria restaurant. Jacqueline knows their plan, and she also make fashion show in the same day as Millicent's fashion show. She kidnap the Flairies and forced them to make their design is sparkly and shiny in "their" design clothes.

Because Jacqueline has greatfully promotions, peoples interested more to come in Jacqueline's fashion show. Suddenly, the clothes began to smell like gym socks and the designs started to melt away. Everyone left the show and come to Millicent's show. The fashion show was successfull. After the show, a lady orders ten thousand pieces from the fashion line, and Millicent is able to buy the fashion house back.

\More than American 50 designers fashioned looks for the show that were inspired by Barbie. The Barbie outfits included designs from the likes of Calvin Klein, Nanette Lepore, Marchesa, Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, Betsey Johnson and more.

The flapper dress, never ever goes out of style. I love the color on this flapper-inspired number, and though I would never wear or recommend wearing that plastic cover on top (some looks are really meant just for the runway) the rest is super super cute.

Oh my god.. what a great idea! I loved barbies in my elementary years too.. I would be devastated when my brother and his friends would shave their heads off! My sister and I loved the Barbies that came with shower mousse!

This show was one of my favorites growing up, and unlike some cartoons, it still remains fresh as I watch it today! This show strikes a wonderful balance between a kid friendly comedy and a dark but hopeful drama. There are times where the show will make you laugh with how silly it is, and make you want to cry with how emotional and tragic the storyline can get.

NEW YORK, Feb 14 (Reuters Life!) - Barbie turns 50 this year but the classic doll was still turning heads at New York's semi-annual Fashion week as models styled as Mattel Inc.'s fashion icon took to the catwalk in designer outfits.

Crowds overflowed at the eagerly awaited show which is part of a year-long celebration for Barbie's birthday which Mattel, the world's largest toy maker, is using to try to make Barbie fashionable again and boost flagging sales.

"Barbie is the quintessential American icon. She represents a woman's first experience with style, transcending generations and cultures; she holds a special place in the fashion world and is an inspiration to many designers," said Hilfilger in a statement.
