Ihave verified my adobe ID both on the program: Adobe digital edition, and on my pocketbook inkpad 3. Still when i contect the pocketbook with USB to the computer, and i launch the program, my device is not showing in the left corner as is should. This then of cource leads to the problem that i can not put any ebooks into my pocketbook. I tried to use calibri, it's a great program BUT i can not use it for ebooks i have bought because they are DRM protectet, so i need this program to read my ebooks.
I have the same issue my Inkpsd 3 wont show on the ADE. It happend after I downloaded a book from the online library the was perhaps damaged. The inkpad promted me to check my ADE authorization so I just reset it and now it wont show the device in my PCs ADE for some reason though Im posotive they have the same authorization.
In my Adobe Digital Editions (4.5 on Windows 7), I have 2 Ebook Readers activated - my old Pocketbook 611 which was destroyed during a mountain trip and cannot be used for anything any more and my new one. The old Pocketbook seems to be somehow corrupt - whenever I click on it, Adobe Digital Editions stops to work. I think it is also the reason for some other problems, e.g. generally slowing down the program to an unacceptable speed. I would like to delete my Pocketbook from the Adobe Digital Editions, but I don't know how (remember: I cannot click on it!) Can anyone help me?
But it kills the program. It's nearly impossible to pull any ebook on the other reader any more. It always crashes in between. I NEED to remove it. It's so crappy. Most of the time, Digital Editions doesn't even start up. Can I un-authorize my other reader and create a new account maybe? Or at least - can you tell me how to remove the authorization of Pocketbook 611?
Problem is, the thing is destroyed. It is so destroyed that the electronics don't work any more. (It was in my rucksack which lay on hard rocks and I sat down on the rucksack. Then it was in shards ) I can connect it to the computer, but it does not respond. Maybe trying this caused all the problems. I don't know.
I remove the folder and uninstall the program (I also delete all registry keys that seem to be connected with Digital Editions). Then I reboot the computer. Then I install Digital Editions. Next I connect the new reader. Digital Editions shows two readers: The old pocketbook and the new reader. Problem persists as it was before.
Next try: I unauthorize my reader. Then I take my completely new computer, where Digital Editions has never been installed before. I install Digital Editions and connect the reader. 2 readers appear in the program: the old pocketbook and the new reader. Program as unstable as always.
I just was in chat support (case number: 0217960592). They told me to get in contact with you to get the license removed so that it doesn't show up in my adobe digital editions. Could you please help me with that?
Then in 2017, I came upon the Kindle Paperwhite in a physical store and it was discounted for no apparent reason. I spontaneously bought it. The Paperwhite is much more to my liking and I started reading a lot more digitally. Mostly book genres from indie book publishers that are hard to find in the Netherlands. The Paperwhite is sturdy and I use it without cover, I can just throw it in my bag, it fits in my winter coat pocket. Never had any issues with scratches on the screen or moisture when carrying it in my coat in rainy weather.
The Kindle is also very easy to put books on, I can get a sample or buy the book via the e-reader, or through the website. And it all automatically loads on the e-reader. Everything I read and highlight is synced across devices. In my case, the Kindle e-reader, my phone and my MacBook. Amazon really gets how to make the best digital reading experience.
The Kobo is a whole other ecosystem than the Kindle. The menu is easier with fewer levels. Being a newer e-reader it feels snappier than the 6 year old Paperwhite. But finding and buying books in English is another matter.
To fix the Bol.com syncing problem I had to log out of my Kobo.com account on the e-reader and log back in. Which erases all your stats, highlights and where you last left off on the book you are reading. Which to me is the most stupid thing ever. Unlike the Kindle which keeps all that data stored on a server and loads it back on.
For now, I have made peace with taking my time looking for something new to read. I rely more on Bookstagram. I save the posts about books that interested me. Then I will look them up on the bookshops websites and add them to my wishlist. Next time I want to read something new I just check the wishlist and buy something that appeals to me at the moment. Open them in Adobe Digital Editions and then save them in Dropbox.
The plan is to read mostly ebooks now. My bookcases are almost at full capacity. I loathe to get rid of books. Although I will need to sacrifice some in the near future to make space. Only books I really like, will possibly re-read again or special editions will be bought.

The only difference consists of the DRM- or watermark-protection that the eBooks are provided with. DRM (Digital Rights Management) and watermarks protects copyright of the author and the publisher and protects the eBooks from illegal copying.
Downloading means the eBook is stored on the hard disk of the device that you use for the download. The eBook can be accessed on that device at any time, without your being online. Yet you need to have the device with you in order to be able to read the eBook.
After starting Adobe Digital Editions for trhe first time you can choose between an authorized and an non-authorized activation. Using an authorized version you can archive your eBooks in "my documents - my digital editions" (Windows). The eBook can be read on every device that has been activated with the same Adobe ID. Cuurently it is limited up to 6 devices.
Yes. If your library has requested that service, you will be able to download ebooks using Adobe DRM. You first need to to create a personal account in Digitalia and to install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer or device (free online) -editions/download.html
In order to download a file, every user has to create an individual account in Digitalia and install the program Adobe Digital Editions. If they want to download it directly from a mobile device, they would need an app that can read documents with DRM.
Keep in mind that the book becomes linked to the Adobe ID that is currently authorized. So, if several people use the same computer, remember to always authorize with your Adobe ID before downloading a new book.
Sometimes it can be helpful to de-authorize Adobe Digital Editions:
For downloading electronic books directly on mobile devices, such as iPhones, iPads and Android phones and tablets, we recommend the free app PocketBook , although you can use any other app that is capable of reading books with DRM (Aldiko, Adobe Digital Editions, etc.)
We recommend using a browser on your device to access your Digitalia site and to download the book directly to your device:
FIRST TIME ONLY:
But if you want to return the documents earlier, you can do so by selecting the book you want to return in your library in Adobe Digital Editions. Make a right-click (or control-click for Mac) on it, and then click on "Return Borrowed Item".
It will ask if you are sure you want to return the eBook. Click "Return" to confirm.
If you downloaded the book without an Adobe ID and you are now getting this message, please contact us on
in...@digitalia.us and let us know the title and URL of the book and the e-mail you registered with in Digitalia. We will return the book for you and you will be able to download it again with the correct Adobe ID.
This error indicates that there was a problem downloading the file. Please contact us on

This error typically appears when you are trying to return a title in Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). Usually the book has been successfully returned, but it will still appear in your ADE library.
If the book still appears as an active loan, please contact us on
in...@digitalia.us and let us know the title and URL of the book and the e-mail you registered with in Digitalia. We will return it for you.
