Really enjoy this useful interview thanks for invite this man ,Mr.sami yusuf he is always inspires me with his believe :) Allah bless you all :) my best part was when he said the aya from Quran in Arabic I love this aya coz we as a Muslims everyday repeat it in our prayers :)
Moreover, I think that we need more people like him.
I wish media would actually pay attention to Muslim intellectuals and people like Sami Yusuf to reflect the true image of Islam, rather than paying too much attention to a group of psychopaths terrorists that commit crimes in the name of Islam.
I also would like to say, I like the fact that, Bible and Quran possess many similarities, Christianity and Islam share a historical and traditional connection,The two faiths share a common origin, significant similarities, and spiritual elements.
I loved it, was beautiful and inspirational :) .. I listened to it, felt so proud that Sami Yusuf has so much spirituality in him and best part was when he quoted (cont) . really he is a great muslim artist, who make others religion worshippers to know what islam is all about :) ..am so so proud Sami Yusuf always inspire me he is a reall Muslim God bless him :)
Great interview! He is a real philosopher. Thanks for letting us enjoy and benefit from his deep words!
He is an inspiration for me and many other people and the reason that makes him special because he is sincere ,honest and he do everything from his heart. God bless him and you all.
personally i think, his songs/nasheeds are perfectly fine, because your better off listening to music praising the prophet, and waking us up.......then to listen to music with a lonly girl telling us how she loves her guy, and how he left her......
i like his audio nasheeds... but after seeing his videos .. i got confused ... especially when i watched his concerts .. things got worse ..some ppl were dancing in it... in his nasheed "mother" , a lady plays the role as the mother, although she's in hijaab, but according to my knowledge, she is model... my marja says that any kind of enrapturing and lahwi music is haram.
His words are not haram, maybe some contain a few minor sunni belief differences, but I dont think thats haram since you know its coming from a non shia. So it just depends on what your marja considers haram and halal when it comes to instruments. But I think most marjas are very vague in their definition of this. They say if it is suitable for dancing then it could be haram, but in my opinion us humans can make anything suitable for dancing if we wished for it to be. But other marjas have no problem with the majority of instruments.
See music is supposed to be about the message....with all these songs out now that most people hardly know what the singer is talking about, the message doesnt exist and is replaced by hooks and addictive beats that stay in your mind and memory way after the song is over. So I think Islams just trying to prevent that from happening, Sami yusuf should know better than to put instruments in his music, he knows how the youth look up to him - he should send a more positive message. Also, I believe the best music instruments are the natural organs that humans have been blessed with. If only we could focus more on utilizing them instead of blindly going for the latest beat that titallates our senses.
I agreee..i follow sayeed fadlullah...he doesnt say anything bad about it....try not to cry is veryy veryy questionable i mean first of all there is rapping it it..and it sounds just like any other song..from the first time i hear dit i always wondered if it was haraam...it sure didnt sound liek a nasheed to me...I also know he is not only singing in try not to cry there is another group called outlandish that sings with him...to me that songdoes not seem halaal to listen to ..i dunno!!!!!!!!
Salam!I sent question to Sistani.org about Sami Yousef and he said it was not problem listening to it. But I like the other album("Allahu") more than the new("my ummah")."My ummah" exists in 2 versions. The one with music and one that is like "Allahu". Only song and maybe duff.I know many don't like him and some even says he is GAY :o
There seems to be a special bond and connection between the two guys, who actually got to know each other by e-mailing back and forth in 2 years. First time Isam and Sami met each other was in London, where hey did a performance together at an Islamic events. It was a big success and surprise to many people, and they have continued the act in Alexandria (Egypt) and other big cities, singing hand in hand and smile by smile.
My dream is Sami , read this poem which I wrote and accept even a word in it to bring to even one person the real meaning of Islam , because I really cry everyday that I have not done anything for Islam yet and that reflect on my study because I was 98 % and I become now 96 % only, please tell Sami that he can help me to do something . In the other paper there is information about me.
Aslamu alaykum wa rahmatuluhi barakathu, Sami my dear brother, you are an excellent artist! I love your albums, I own both of them. You have a beautiful voice! Your nasheeds have opened my eyes to a whole new chapter in my life. It has cetianly bought me closer to Allah (SWT). Islam is a wonderful religion and is something to be proud of. May Allah reward you with blessings and happinness. Congratulations on your marriage, recently. She is a very lucky woman, to have a husband like you. I wish you every happiness together.
