Call for Papers RoboSoft 2019
The Second IEEE International Conference on Soft Robotics
April. 14-18, COEX, Seoul, Korea
Oct. 15, 2018: Due date for RA-L with RoboSoft Option (closed)
Extended to Nov. 11, 2018: Due date for Full Conference Paper/ Proposals for Workshops and Tutorials (http://robosoft2019.org/pwcms.....html)
Mar. 1, 2019: Due date for Late Breaking Results
************************************************************************************************************
Dear Robotics Colleagues,
The first IEEE International Conference on Soft Robotics was successfully launched in Livorno, Italy earlier this year with more than 350 attendees.
This was an exciting event where the top researchers in the field of soft robotics presented their latest results and discussed the potential of soft robotics technology to solve the many problems that lie ahead of us.
To help this community grow, the second IEEE International Conference on Soft Robotics (RoboSoft 2019) will be held in COEX, Seoul, Korea, on April 14~18, 2019.
The field of soft robotics is a recent and exciting area of robotics research that challenges traditional robotic designs by using soft materials and highly deformable structures for building unconventional robots that are capturing the imagination of the public.
Their high impact in the scientific community and their wide range of potential application has made this field one of the most dynamic in the field of robotics.
Given the young and interdisciplinary community working on the field of soft robotics, RoboSoft 2019 aims at presenting recent progresses in this field, for discussing new concepts, new technologies and new opportunities for applications.
[Submission Formats]
There are four different options for submitting your work for presentation at RoboSoft 2019.
1. RA-L with RoboSoft option submission: Due Oct. 15, 2018 (closed)
Your work can be published as a journal paper in RA Letters, and also present your work at RoboSoft 2019
When submitting to RA-L with RoboSoft option, please use one of the following 4 keywords as your 1st keyword.
"Modeling, Control, and Learning for Soft Robots"
"Soft Sensors and Actuators"
"Soft Robot Materials and Design"
"Soft Robot Applications”
2. Full paper submission: Extended to Nov. 11, 2018
Normal 6 page conference paper, with 2 extra pages allowed with extra charges.
3. Workshops and Tutorials Proposals: Extended to Nov. 11, 2018
Proposals are called for half-day and full-day Tutorials and Workshops.
Gather high quality speakers, and let them present their latest results without being binded by publication by just submitting an abstract.
Tutorials and Workshops will be held on Sunday, April 14, before the conference technical program.
4. Late Breaking Results: Due Mar. 1, 2019
Submit your abstract, and you can present your poster at RoboSoft 2019.
5. Competition: Proposal Due Jan.15, 2019
The theme of the 2019 Soft Robotics Challenge will be announced on the conference website.
The competition will be on the last day of the conference.
[About the Venue]
COEX is a world-class convention center in the heart of Gangnam and whose trade tower is a landmark of Seoul..
Aside from hosting over 200 exhibitions, conventions, and special events every year, COEX is also connected to
the largest underground shopping mall(Starfield COEX) in the world and faces the Bongeunsa buddhist temple founded in 794.
[Paper Presentation]
RobotSoft 2019 has two types of presentation which will be determined by the paper reviewers and the program committee:
* Podium Sessions (12-minute oral presentation + 3-minute Q&A)
* Interactive Sessions (1-minute plenary teaser + Interactive presentation: poster/video/demo)
[Important Dates]
Submission of RA-L with RoboSoft Option: Oct. 15, 2018 (closed)
Submission of Full Papers / Workshop Proposals: Extended to Nov. 11, 2018
Notification of Full Paper Acceptance: Jan. 21, 2019
Final Papers Due: February 17, 2019
